Hilarious Finish Of Mexican Rally

Those of you that follow and read my posts know by now I mix things up trying to make it as entertaining as possible. I love all sport and when I find something different the beauty is about sharing such events.

The World Rally Championship of 2017 threw up a fantastic finish that was not expected. Chris Meeke was leading the race by 37 seconds when he went off the road with only two corners to go before the finish line.

Talk about luck as he managed to miss a few parked cars in the car park and do a quick impromptu detour and still managed to claim victory. Call it what you want but that is one way to finish in some style.

I love watching the onboard camera as you get the driver and navigators real comments as it happens. This is from the same incident above as they have no idea if they have won or not having done an extra lap of the car park.

Sometimes things are meant to be and the luck was shining on them this day as it could have gone so terribly wrong for them and for whoever was in the car park. Still it shows some decent skills how he weaves around the parked cars getting his bearings.

I would stab at a guess that it is worse being the co driver or navigator as you are concentrating on the course details and the crash will come as a real shock as you don't see it coming until you are in it lol.

Personally I would never navigate as I am not a good back seat driver. I always prefer to drive as I know what skills I have which makes me feel safer than watching someone else drive me around. In the past I have avoided all sorts of incidents on the road and don't believe it is all luck, but more about reading the situation.

This is slightly different though as you need to trust your driver with your life as the speeds that these cars drive at you only have so many lucky breaks. Meeke definitely used up one of his charmed lives on this one.
