Sports Is Not Dead

I heard from someone earlier that "sports" is dead. This couldn't be so far from the truth in reality. Everything has to be taken into context of what you want out of it and are you prepared to put anything back? Socially it is what you make of it unless you are not bothered and just want to take what you can get. This post is not a moan or a groan as it is the way I see it and quite happy the price is down for now.

Steem is made up of takers and givers and some take more than they give. This replicates the real world unfortunately in many ways. A well balanced eco system will have as many sellers as there are buyers which makes for a harmonious society.

Over the last 6 months or so we have seen more sellers on the Sportstalksocial market than buyers which has not been unique as this has been replicated across most tribes today. It looks as though there are more today thinkers than there are tomorrow ones.

I really do see it differently though and everyone can have their views which is fine. I joined Sports because I enjoy sports which is bloody obvious and so do many millions of other people who haven't signed up yet.

Currently there are around 2100 accounts that have staked tokens which is a little misleading. Maybe 10 percent are staking on a daily basis whilst everyone else ifs flooding the market. i have no problem with that as the less you stake the less value you will hold.

Now that Tron is involved with Steem and we have got rid of useless Ned we now have a chance for some serious marketing and growth. Think what would happen to a Tribe like Sports if 1 million users arrived over the next few months. I can assure you they aren't all going to the vegan section (no offence) or some funky tribe, but sports does stand out.

Just by adding an extra 100 000 users to Sports will transform what we know it is today and that is a drop in the ocean. To understand Steem and the Tribes I think you need to think in figures to realise the possibilities that are within reach.

Unfortunately it looks like most users are all about here and now and how much they can "milk" the cow. I just don't see the point in selling at 0.00006 or whatever the price is right now.My vote values are growing at an alarming rate now as I have been staking more than 90 percent daily and now 100 percent as what is the point of selling.

An account making 100 000 or 200 000 Sports tokens daily is sitting pretty when this all changes. Even if it doesn't right now 100 000 tokens is still 6 Steem at today's prices and very few are making those sorts of numbers now as they have been selling. Go and look at the rich list and it is for everyone to see as it sticks out like a sore thumb. Certain users will be on 30 Million within the next month and if this continues will be on 50 Million before the years end and that is only maintaining current vote values.

20 Million staked today will give you around a 15 000 vote value so users who are on 2 million all of a sudden are only on 1500 per vote which is peanuts really as that is worth after curation 0.05 Steem and they are now going backwards. The cow cannot be milked everyday without consequences and I am hoping people read this and see what they are doing has no future and makes no economic sense.

I just see it as short sightedness amongst the majority which is a shame as they are the ones who are going to miss out long term. SMT's are apparently around the corner (possibly) and I am sure Sports will find a way of getting listed. I would quite happily help if @patrickulrich needs assistance and I am sure others would stick their hands up as well.

I think all tribes and communities will be and have been milked by existing users. what we need is new users with a different mind set. Ownership rather than cash cow. the marketing message needs to change big time

Well said and good points! I am more than willing to help. People are more than welcome to do whatever they want with their tokens, but don't come around crying when you are selling all of your stuff.

Looks like we are in a transition period. We see some major changes in Steem blockchain. Once SPORTS price increases, we will see a different picture. Things can change and do better in the future.

I do not think that people go to change the mentality of selling their SPORTS at prices as low as the current ones, but for those who can buy, it is good that it is so low the price, so we buy more SPORTS with less money.

So the best would be, try to see if we attract more people to this tribe, in the medium or long term, those who are betting a lot SPORTS now, we will see our fruits prosper, it is to have patience, nothing more ..

Over time new users will arrive and new ideas as well so I am going to keep staking and see what happens.
