Imagine knowing key people in every field, like knowing some lawyers, bank owners, high ranked Police officers, top government officers, top doctors, top investors and so on. Imagine, keeping tabs on everyone of them. With time, surely one of them will introduce you to a good business opportunity and since you have so much networks, that simple business opportunity might become something very big, because you will be getting extra favors from your networks to make sure your business opportunity prospers. Most people get into Yale University and other top ranked Universities just to get good networks, because we all need that extra network to become rich and wealthy in our field of work. Mindset

If you want to improve your networking skills, the first thing you will have to do is to change your mindset. By changing your mindset, I mean, you need to change how you see networking. You need not see networking as a work stuff, rather you should see it as a game. A trilling game for the matter of fact, a game that makes you meet and familiarize with new people and keeping tabs on them constantly. When you view it this way, it becomes easier to approach new faces and genuinely familiarize with them. But if you see it as a work stuff, it becomes harder, because you start to fear rejection, you start thinking of doing things too perfectly, like saying the words, making the right posture and all those sorts of things and the other party will most likely see that you are not genuine and might back off. You need to see as an interesting game and it will become easier and more fun to do.

Destination

The second step to take in improving your networking skills, is your knowing your destination. By destination, I mean, knowing just how many people you want to meet in a day or week. Networking isn't the same as meeting people randomly, you must know what you want your kind of network to be and go after such kind of people. Now, since you have realized your kind of people you want as network, you need to set a target of the number of new networks you want to get either daily or weekly. If you don't do that, you won't be motivated to get new networks. And you not knowing the number of networks you need, will only be messing your mind up. Imagine, they are taking you somewhere and no one has told you where you are heading to, will you be comfortable? Hell no, but once you know where you are going to, you will feel more relaxed and comfortable, right? Same thing applies to networking, once you set a target of the number of people you want as network every week you will have a better understanding of what has to be done.
