Oh wow, 16km this weekend. That is nuts! I think I would be lucky to eek out 1k. It is hard to say. It might be more of a jog if I were trying I think. We just had some storms come through and have hit a bit of a cool spell. It is a nice change from what we had earlier.

Got up to about 28C, which is hot for us, but then I try to run in the morning anyway. Not too bad in the house today as we don't have a/c. Could do with some rain for the garden, although it's still very green.

Running long distances means lots of training, so I would expect I can do it after all the running I've done. A half marathon is just a bit further. It will be fun to run in a crowd again, but I guess people will be keeping their distance where possible. I wonder if they will start us in groups to spread it out more.

That would make a lot of sense I think.

They did send out a survey to ask what sort of finish time we expect, so they may base it on that. A lot of these races use a chip on your shoe to log your start and end time, so we do not all have to start together. I think there have been around 300 in previous events, so it's not a huge one.

That is really cool about the chip.

It's been pretty standard for a long time using RFID chips. They have sensor mats at the start and finish. Companies hire systems out for events. For parkrun they scan a barcode as it's easier to do with just a phone.
