March Run #30: Rediscovering the Tabor Trail Marathon loop + Rooart Contest

avatar
(Edited)

Penultimate run in the month of March served a double purpose. It was a run and it was a photo trip.

It a sentence, it was about discovering the roots.

This duality is best captured in the cover image itself.

First the run. I am reviving the old idea of running a loop marathon in our local forest. With these strange times we found ourselves in I intend to run ten loops and reach the marathon distance. So I need a loop approximately 4.2 kilometers long.

This loop, outlined with red lines, is 4,350 meters long and has an altitude gain of 115 meters. I think it will serve well for a cozy trail marathon. Cozy because I am more into adventure and travel than speed. It will also be a good mental exercise, don't you think?

After all, you run will your head. Body and legs just follow.

Now to the second part of this duality in action.

@kus-knee, a.k.a. The Old Dog has prepared another contest for us:

The Roots as Art. Rooart Contest!

He wants us to show him, and the community, our roots. Read his announcement, will you?

While on today's run I was on a lookout for some roots. There are plenty in the woods, of course. These struck my inner eye.

And ...

How do you like them?

Ps: please, don't kick me when I admit that the editing was done with Google Photos :)

OK, this should be enough art for one run, don't you think?

All the physical activity data that I display in my @exhaust and @actifit reports is gathered with the help of Coros Pace sports watch and displayed with Coros app.

You have uploaded 344 running activities, and 34 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 34 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 324.23 kms at an average pace of roughly 6:02 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 6.925min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!

Very cool post and you got me interested in exhaust. I am a former runner (I still run occasionally)but mostly do HIT training now.I love the route of your run as well.

Hey, thanks for the kudos and for your interest in @exhaust.

Do join it. If you are using Strava you can connect it and have your exercises synced automagically.

@mstafford is the author and he can tell you a bit more about the idea behind the @exhaust.

Welcome :)

Ps: I am way to lazy for training routines like HIIT or Tabata:)

Yes that one I've heard about. I even downloaded it on my phone but I've never posted with it. If you saw me exercising you'd laugh! I vary things up everyday and do about 20 minutes. Not bad for an Old Guy!

Not bad? Excellent!

I would't laugh. I promise :) You exercise twenty minutes more than I do!

Yes, both Actifit and Exhaust give me an excuse to post at least two posts each day.
