some 800m intervals [Exhaust Running Report, September 9th 2020]

It's acrobatics training time again. For the first time this season the kids gathered at the gymnastics center GIB in Ljubljana Šiška. Meaning I had a good hour of time to go for a run.

I decided to have a not very demanding interval training on the track. As a warm up I ran to the nearest stadium which is accidentally Slovenian athletics center.

You can see it on the map where I did the rounds.

The plan was to do some 800 meters intervals in 3:50 with 400 meters jog. Plus warm up and cool down, of course.

When I got to the stadium I met two running friends there, Toni and Matjaž. Toni is an ultra runner and was cooling down after a long run.

Matjaž is an established masters runner with great results in his age group. When I got there he was finishing his 800 m session with times of 2:57 for two laps.

As a cool down he did 5 quick rounds with me. We talked all the time during the run so I had enough breath to run faster, I suppose.

We were so immersed in the discussion that we mistakenly ran three laps for one interval. Even better.

On the graph bellow you can well see how related are running power and pace when you are running on a track or without any climbs.

Some more data from the Coros watch and app.

Heart rate graph doesn't show the pace change as vividly as the power graph does.

Heart rate zones were more in the upper drawer which is very rare for my runs.

Training effect was decent for anaerobic zone, according to the watch.

When the data got automagically transferred from watch to Strava it was synced to Training Peaks too. I immediately got the mail with the following content.

Good to know :)

Returning back to gymnastics hall I was very satisfied with the run. I even did the last kilometer at the 5 minutes pace.

Overall, it was a good workout and I had enough time for a chat with other parents of our aspiring freestyle athletes kids :)

All the physical activity data that I display in my @exhaust and @actifit reports is gathered with the help of Coros Pace sports watch and displayed with Coros app.

You have uploaded 511 running activities, and 70 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 70 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 702.21 kms at an average pace of roughly 6:01 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.222min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!

I did a very similar workout today, but I was on rough farm trails rather than a smooth, flat track. It's a good one for working on your speed. I could have done with some company though.
