venting [Exhaust Running Report, October 2nd 2020]

Another late night run after an ineffective day. At least the run was decent. Three climbs up the hill across the street.

No, this flower has nothing to do with the run. I noticed it this morning while at my father's garden and took the photo to use it later as a nice background.

Another run tomorrow morning and the first challenge of the second #utmbfortheplanet series will be completed.

I need ten effective kilometers. Easy.

All the physical activity data that I display in my @exhaust and @actifit reports is gathered with the help of Coros Pace sports watch and displayed with Coros app.

You have uploaded 533 running activities, and 92 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 92 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 400.16 kms at an average pace of roughly 6:04 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 6.051min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

@ecency

Here is the visual report of the test with the tags displayed char by char with spaces in between.

I repeated the following steps:

1. published an @exhaust report with Edge,

2. checked the outcome in peakd

3. checked the outcome in @ecency web app

4. checked the outcome in @esteem desktop app

image.png

5. checked the outcome in @ecency android app

I guess that the tag display method is the same for all your apps?

I don't see anything wrong with the metadata field:

{"app": "exhaust-beta/0.2b", "tags": "exhaust running sportstalk coros runningproject runeveryday ecency test"}

image.png

All I can say is that somewhere along the way the method for displaying tags splits and eats the individual characters :)

Hope it helps.

@ecency

Second part of the test - a simple edit and save without any changes with peakd which beefs up the metdata quite a bit:

Here's the culprit!

peakd nicely formats the tags in a proper json array. While exhaust does it in a single string:

"tags": "exhaust running sportstalk coros runningproject runeveryday ecency test"

An edge case of garbage in garbage out :)
