Morning run in the sun

avatar

We are having some lovely weather right now. Not necessarily typical for this time of year, but it feels like spring is coming. Lots of flowers up already. It does cool down at night though and so was not so warm for my run. As I jogged through the village I could see a paraglider in the distance. I thought I might be able to see them once I was up the hill, but they had gone by then. The view is from Fairfield back towards #Arlesey. The white building is a former office block that has been converted to apartments. There are houses being built around it, so that is less industrial space locally.

View

I did the usual run around Fairfield. It felt like hard work today, but it seems my pace was not too terrible. I just tried to keep going. I do think that doing three consecutive days over the weekend takes it out of me. I went to see the specialist about my withered hand yesterday, but he cannot seem to offer me any effective treatment. I just have to live with it.

Stats

As I mentioned before Strava has a Ukraine challenge. You just need to complete a 5km activity and then you are invited to donate to the Red Cross. I gave them something. Millions of people have had to leave their homes, so it is the least I can do.

Run free, stay well and stand with Ukraine.

It was supposed to get up to the mid forties here today, but right now it is snowing, so I have zero clue what is going on at this point. I did my usual workout indoors where it is warm. Nice job on your run!

...it feels like spring is coming.

Man I love that feeling. It's supposed to reach the mid 60's (F) here today and maybe to the 70's later in the week. I can't wait for that ahhhh feeling to arrive. The one where I feel like cleaning and reorganizing and planting a garden. Soon I think.

What a view.. Beautiful along the edge of that field!

You can see a long way from up there. This is part of why I run. I need some outside time.

Neighbours were sitting out having coffee in the garden today. It was nice having my lunch with the sun streaming in to warm me up :)

I've heard that spring travels north at 4mph, so you have to wait longer for it. Maybe that's why houses cost so much down here. If it keeps getting more expensive we may have to move north.

I cant wait till I can sit out in the garden. I reckon, if the 4mph calculation is correct it might be a couple of weeks yet before its possible.

Come north, you can buy a mansion! :OD

Potentially better beer as you move north and Scotland has the whisky!

The good weather has arrived! And hopefully it keeps coming. We actually have rain now after a couple of weeks of sun.
The 5k challeng is a cool idea. That's great that you donated. Very generous of you. 👍

You have a beautiful area, it's already like spring. Unfortunately, we still have winter, and now I haven’t run for almost 2 months since I injured my knee, but I go to the pool to somehow compensate for the lack of running. I think I will run again soon.

Hope your knee recovers soon. I do my best to avoid injury, but sometimes it just happens. Swimming is a good workout anyway.

Thank you for your wishes! In running, we must always be very careful, one wrong move and injury is inevitable. Swimming has a great effect on the body and in particular on the spine. I was advised to go swimming by my friend, he is an orthopedic doctor and said that swimming keeps in shape and strengthens almost all parts of the body.

I do swim in the summer when we have our pool set up. It's not very big, but I can do a few strokes per length for a workout. Running is just convenient as I don't need to drive anywhere.

Nice run, i've done about 45 minutes of walking today, which is about as much as i can handle at the moment. A week ago i couldn't do 10 minutes, so i am improving!

That's good then. Nice day for it, but may rain tomorrow. Keep at it. You could take some photos to share here. Show people all the nice flowers what are coming out.

I hope so too. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to be active.

I need to take advice from you. I might try to go for a really peaceful run tomorrow!

If you are starting running then look up the couch to 5k plan. There are apps for that. It took me a while before i could run for more than as few minutes.

Withered hand? Don't know what that... Damn! Just looked it up on google. It doesn't look nice. Probably it's in stages. Anything to slow down the degeneration if you can't get treatment?

It's really hot here though. But dead crops are alive again.
