I just finished a 10.018km running that lasted about 0hh:59mm:16ss !

There was a little rain as we went to bed last night, but you would not know it this morning. Bright and warm again, but it is predicted to be cooler in the next few days. It may still get warm today, so it is best to get the run done fairly early. It looks like others had the same idea as I saw plenty of other runners, including one I knew. He was doing the loop in the opposite direction and so I saw him twice.

I tried taking a little diversion off West Drive to see where it would take me, but ended up looping back to my usual route. I may explore those paths some more another time. On the edge of the fields there I encountered a couple of cock pheasants. I have seen and heard a few of them about lately, including one that flew past our house. I guess it is mating season and so they are more active than usual. Other wildlife seen today included a squirrel and a dead rat in an underpass.

My legs were really feeling it today, but yesterday's run and my cycling this week have taken it out of me. A couple of days of gardening will not have helped that. I will be out there again today.

I asked @run.vince.run if he had been stopped by the police when out cycling and he said he had not, but that local papers were checking on Strava logs to name and shame people who had been out more than recommended. In the UK we are allowed one lot of exercise per day. There was mention of a half hour of running being enough, but I need more than that to stretch my legs. I expect the authorities have more pressing priorities than checking on me. I am keeping away from other people and being out there is beneficial to my health.

Podcast listening today was Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (RHLSTP!), Guardian Science Weekly (COVID-19 update) and No Such Thing as a Fish. I keep up with what is going on, but need other stuff to get away from the news. I tend to not watch the TV news.

We have been watching a few old Doctor Who episodes where some of those involved tweet comments. Last night it was The Doctor's Wife when the spirit of the TARDIS ends up in a woman. Writer Neil Gaiman and actor Michael Sheen were tweeting. The episodes are all on iPlayer or Netflix and they just set a time to start watching. Lots of celebrities are stuck at home and probably welcome having something to do. I guess writers can still be writing at least.

Happy Easter everyone!

You have uploaded 118 running activities, and 20 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 20 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 204.96 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:52 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.916min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!

Happy Easter, nice run. I wouldnt be suprised if apps were being used to rat people out, how shitty

We need to prioritise police efforts where the real problems are such as people having parties. We runners miss our parkrun, but we know it's not an option for now.

Cheers. I tend to walk the last bit to cool down, so that reduces my average pace a bit. This was a gentle run after a busy exercise week. Having a day off now.

i often wonder if i would be a faster runner if it wasn't a million degrees here every day, even in cool season it is dreadfully hot.

I'm sure that makes it harder to get out. It was about as warm as I like it today. I prefer it cooler as I warm up anyway. Even in winter when it gets down to freezing I will be out in shorts. Just do what you can and enjoy it.

It was supposed to rain yesterday so my wife and I got out early to get a decent walk in. The top of my one foot started hurting and I wasn't able to go as fast as usual. I still got about 6000 steps in from the walk, so I can't really complain about that. Nice job on your run!

I've taken it easy today. It's a bit cooler now. Back to work tomorrow.
