Morning Run: Acceleration

I just finished a 7.428km running that lasted about 0hh:43mm:15ss !

Last night we had a very few drops of rain and by this morning there were small pools on some of the garden chairs even though the ground seemed dry. We could do with some rain for our garden and to fill up the water butts. It was distinctly cooler today with a bit of wind.

The cat did not wake me up early today, and when she did wander up the bed it was time to get up anyway. I had my usual drink of water and half a banana before heading out. I was doing 30-20-10 intervals. This consists of 8 minutes of warm up before sets of 30 seconds jog, 20 of running and 10 of sprint repeated five times. I do this three times with two minutes between and then jog the rest of the way home from wherever I got to.

I tried to make the 30 second segments slightly quicker than the rest periods and it was not too bad. From the Pendleton Way I took the track across the fields. This is all very flat. I kept going on that track until the last rest period and then doubled back to take the rougher track west to loop around past Dove House and along the River Ivel. That may be another place to look for kingfishers as there is a route there called the Kingfisher Way.

I had a few sprints left to do, but was taking extra care on the uneven surfaces. There were some people about, but taking a fall could be nasty.

I did not see much wildlife apart from a few birds. Podcast listening was In Our Time about Xeno's paradoxes and The Life Scientific interviewing Jane Goodall. Her years spent studying wild chimps are a world away from what most of us do, but she found a lot of parallels with human behaviour.

Breakfast after the run was muesli with the rest of the banana plus strawberries from the garden and a drink of orange juice. I had to put set the breadmaker going to make a loaf for lunch. Just had some good coffee after my shower.

I will have to see if it gets warm enough for a swim in the next few days. I am trying to do more pressups and other strength exercises. I am also doing some online courses to learn more about topics that could be useful for work.

Run fast and stay well.

You have uploaded 144 running activities, and 45 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 45 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 323.65 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:53 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.823min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

Thank God the cat didn't wake you up. I guess the weather was cooler.
I prefer strength work out to leaving my house in the morning to run . I think as I get older, i should state getting used to the fact that I should run

Sounds about like our day yesterday! We had some huge storms come through at night, but by the time we got up for our morning walk it was all clear and we just had to dodge some pools. We are heading out of town tomorrow morning so I am not sure how much exercise we are going to get in this weekend.

Sounds like we had a lot less rain. Just want enough to keep the garden fresh.

Even with the rain I have been watering my garden every day. Just to be safe. I want my veggies to be epic this year!

It's nice to have a little rain to freshen the air and pep up the plants, as much as I love the sun and dry weather it can get very tiring when it goes on too long. Looks like you are managing to keep active, I get my exercise lugging sacks of coffee around.

I've managed to persuade @teamuksupport upvoting posts finally, without comment at the moment will catch up on that when I have ironed out more bugs.

You must have strong arms then. I hope we can build up the UK community a bit more. I will look at using the tag more.

Excellent run workout. Must feel nicer running now the weather’s a bit cooler.
How do you feel running on such a small breakfast? I always make sure I eat a decent amount but this means I have to get up at least 2 hours before going out. I worry I will fatigue early if I only have a minimal breakfast. Have you adjusted or has it always worked?

I seem to do alright on minimal food, but then I don't want to wait to digest it. I have always done this since I started running a few years back.

I am thinking about a longer run on Sunday and will eat more before that, but I need to see how the weather looks.
