Sunday run: Better rested

I just finished a 11.38km running that lasted about 1hh:2mm:56ss !

I wrote previously how the cat had been waking us up far too early. This went on for several nights, but last night she let us sleep through. I felt better for that. Mind you, I was aware of the wind and rain during the night. The weather has turned cooler and wetter again. Yesterday my neighbour had the parasol on his outside table caught by the wind and it shattered the glass tabletop. I have not noticed any other damage yet.

Luckily it was not raining this morning, but still a bit windy. I was aiming for something over 10km. As usual I started fairly slow, but got quicker as my legs warmed up and managed a quite good pace on this run. I got one personal Strava segment record without trying to. That shows my fitness is improving. I would like to be running a bit more and will aim to get in an extra weekly run.

Conditions were pretty good apart from some headwind. I thought the grass paths would be muddy, but they were okay. A few people out and about. Some runners and dog walkers. I saw one lady pushing her dog in a buggy. Maybe it is injured. I have seen another around here that has a set of wheels due to problems with its back legs.

I could probably have run a bit further, but I felt like I had had enough. When I was almost home I saw a group of five people running in the shirts of a local club. They were spaced out a bit, but maybe they are starting to do group training sessions again. The risk of COVID-19 is still out there so I will not be taking chances.

Podcast listening was Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (with Robert Webb), Digital Planet and No Such Thing as a Fish.

Run free and stay well.

Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!

Good effort again, enjoy those Strava segments while you can, they are shortly to be available to subscribers only!

I have decided to pay for Strava. I make far more from my posts than the subscription costs, so I may as well have the extra stats.

Well I guess it was a matter of us being lucky for getting it for free for so long!

Strava may have been too generous with the free features. I think the service is good and they keep it pretty free of ads. For the price of a coffee each month I'll enjoy the extras.

Great job! The wife and I were camping this past weekend with our niece and nephews so we weren't able to get out for much of a walk. I am sure they would have been okay had we left them alone in the camper, but we didn't want to take the chance.

Nice that you were able to camp. It's getting really windy here, but a friend wants to run later and I may go with him.
