Morning Run - Day 5

I just finished a 4.424km running that lasted about 0hh:27mm:11ss !

This is my fifth day in a running 'streak' experiment. After some intervals yesterday I planned to take it easy today. It was a bit overcast, but still warm, as I headed up the road and then took the path to the railway footbridge. I passed a couple of ladies as I crossed the river and went up towards the fields where a guy was flying a drone. I think I have seen him there before. Next I saw a lady whose dog was carrying an enormous stick that it seemed determined to take home.

I saw a few people with dogs around the route, as I would expect. Most of them seem to be good enough not to leave a mess behind. The long downhill across a field was a little easier as the crop has been harvested and so there are no long stems to dodge. Still need to watch my footing. It was a little muddy in places, but I had my trail shoes on.

There have been a couple of reports recently of people being kicked or bitten by the horses that graze on the meadow. I noticed there are some new signs saying to not feed them and that you enter at your own risk. I have not had issues with the horses and they were all at the far end anyway. I can imagine they are protective when they have their foals.

When I got back to the Mill Pits the first two women I saw were in having a swim. Sometimes it gets busy there and some of the teenagers can get a bit abusive, but an early swim seemed like a good idea when it is peaceful.

My pace today was gentle for me and that is okay. It is still a workout and keeps the body working. I was pretty warm anyway. I was looking at Strava when I got back and the app now shows 'local legends' who have done segments lots of times over 90 days. I may not achieve that status as I tend to vary my routes. I found a lady on there who a friend had mentioned. I could see she did a run of half marathons every day for a week. Judging by my progress this week I think I would struggle to do that for now.

Tomorrow may be more intervals to mix it up.

Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 182 running activities, and 2 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 2 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 8.96 kms at an average pace of roughly 6:10 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 6.144min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

Yikes! Best to stay away from those horses I guess! Nice job keeping your streak going! I got more exercise than I planned yesterday, but it was because I had to move some dirt for our new fence. Not my idea of fun after a hard day of work!

I just give the horses some space and they seem okay. Not had one chase me yet.

Getting ready to go for my daily walk soon. Sounds like a nice run. Just watch out for the dogs and their land mines.😀

I try to always watch where I'm running. This was mostly on rough paths, so I have to be careful anyway. What I don't get is that some people bag the 'deposit' and then leave it behind, sometimes hanging on a tree.
