Morning Run - not parkrun in a good time

I just finished a 7.538km running that lasted about 0hh:42mm:7ss !

I was not sure if I would be running today as I tripped over in the house last night and have a few scrapes on my arm and leg. I was not too sore, so went for it anyway.

I have set up a 5km session on my Garmin watch with a warm-up and cool-down. I used my Arlesey to Stotfold segment to see how I was progressing. I basically went all out on this and did not feel I could go much quicker. I suspect I could run more efficiently with some coaching, but I do what I can. The route takes me along the Pendleton Way cyclepath and then it is all the way along Vaughan Road that seems to go on forever. I had to go around the corner at the end as my watch said I was not quite half way. Then it is all the way back. I was fairly consistent with my splits.

It was not until I got back that I saw my actual 5km time, which just sneaked under 25 minutes. That is where I have wanted to be. Apparently it is only my third slowest, but not by much.

This also takes me over 1000km for the year. I only just managed that in the whole of last year. I will smash that record this time.

It was a bit of a walk on the way back as I was worn out.

This afternoon I was busking in Hitchin again. There were loads of people around and our group seemed to be appreciated. Then as soon as I got home I needed to record some songs for online open mic. Just got them done in time. It has been an exhausting day overall.

Run free and stay well.

I bet you had lots of talk about. It's going to be harder to do meetups in the near future. Maybe someone could set one up on Zoom some time.

Wow, what a busy and full day for you! That sucks that you fell in the night. I am glad that your injuries weren't worse. I know how horrible it can be to have a seemingly benign injury that turns into something much worse. My leg is just finally getting back to normal.
