Morning Run - Frosty

I just finished a 6.304km running that lasted about 0hh:35mm:40ss !

The last couple of mornings have been a lot cooler than previously, but they have also been bright and dry. It was a bit misty today though. I opted for my warm long-sleeve top and gloves for my run.

I thought I would try my cross-country route today, but was not looking to do intervals. Some of the paths are still pretty muddy with big puddles. I was impressed to see that the ladies were swimming in the river even though the temperature was just about freezing. That is real commitment. I think there were five of them.

I went around the loop I have been using for intervals, but then headed off with the thought of going back via the meadow with the horses. However, the farmers have been working the fields and the track across one of them was looking like a mudbath. I did not fancy that and so turned back. As I got the the river the ladies were just finishing. I took the path along the river by the plant nursery and then used the road bridge over the railway to get back to the High Street and head home.

There were a few kids heading to school, but otherwise it was fairly quiet out. I hardly saw anyone out by the fields. It is looking like it will be a nice day, but likely to stay cold.

Run free and stay well.

Sounds like a great morning run.

Yes, the farmers and lumberjacks do a massive mess with their tractors. What was a nice trail becomes a muddy trap when they pass by :)

Those ladies are awesome. Or they don't know what cold water is :)

Thanks again for yesterday's Coinbase Earn hint.

I know some people seem to love mud, but it means a lot of cleaning up afterwards.

Apparently some study says that cold baths can delay dementia. Maybe that is why they do it. I assume it gets easier the more you do it.

Cheers for the tipu!

I do miss those frosty morning runs in Autumn, there's something quite pleasant about them!

Impressed that people are out swimming I must say.

I quite like this time of year. I didn't really feel the cold, but getting in the water can't be easy. I was not tempted.

Holy cow, swimming when it is that cold? My back is seizing up just thinking about it. That is nuts! Great job on your run. It was a weights day for us today. I will probably take it a little easy tomorrow morning because I feel like I went a bit hard through the week.

There's a tradition of year-round swimming and maybe it's growing as people reckon it is good for you. I don't even like cold showers.

I will do some body weight exercises too. My legs were feeling it yesterday, but were okay this morning.

I upped my resistance band from 20 pounds to 30 pounds this week so I have been feeling the burn a little more.

Well done mate. Hope it's feeling good. Getting outside is important to my state of mind lately.
