I just finished a 6.312km running that lasted about 0hh:35mm:25ss !

The thing with doing long weekend runs is that you may not feel so much like running for a few days afterwards, but I like to stick to my schedule.Today was a bit warmer, but everywhere is wet, even though it was not raining. There is a drain in our road that just seems to gush water all the time lately, so there is a puddle to get around.

I went out towards Stotfold today and just went with what I felt able to do. My pace was quite up and down, but I found some speed at times. My right foot was getting some twinges to start with. I think I did something to it at the weekend that affected something in the arch. It does not seem too bad though. I am conscious that any injuries could set me back, so I do listen to my body.

I turned around where a big puddle covered the cycle path just short of Stotfold. As is often the case I seemed to find the running easier as I went on, but it was a bit of a struggle generally.

Congratulations to @dannewton on his first half marathon. I know what an achievement that is.

Run free and stay well.

Good luck with your running. I think just getting outside for a while does you good.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.

Don't you hate that when you do something barely noticeable to one of your parts and then a day or two later it really comes back to remind you just how serious it actually was. I think I am going to look for some easy yoga to try this coming weekend. I really need to finally work on stretching and flexibility so I can hopefully avoid injuries during my weekly workouts.

I'm hoping this is something minor that will clear up soon. It's not feeling too bad.

Thanks :-), today my knees feel a bit sore, and my left calf feels a bit tight but other than that I seem ok. I may try a small, slow recovery run tomorrow and see how it goes

I am conscious that any injuries could set me back, so I do listen to my body.

This is very important. A small niggle can get much worse if ignored. I find that the more often I run, the better 'in tune' I am with my body and it becomes easier to tell the difference between just feeling tired and a potential injury.

Its always better to be safe than sorry, and I'd rather miss one day of training, rather than train through it and end up having to miss 2 weeks to recover from over-training.

I'm pretty sensitive to how my body reacts to runs. If it hurts I'll definitely stop.
