Morning Run - Misty-eyed

I just finished a 6.62km running that lasted about 0hh:37mm:36ss !

It was down near freezing again this morning with a big of light fog around. It was enough for some drivers to think they need their foglights on (I disagree). That did not affect my running, but my glassed did fog up. That is down to the moisture in the air collecting on them. I had to wipe them at times, but I had gloves on that make that more effective.

I was up the 'hill' to Fairfield again. Those in more mountainous areas will not be impressed, but it is enough climbing to slow me down a bit. I was noticeably quicker on the second half again. I think that is partly down to being warmed up as well as going down the hill. Strava reckons I was really quick on the other side of Fairfield, but I am not conscious that I was going that quickly.

I had one minor stumble when I misjudged a kerb, but I came nowhere near falling. My right foot's arch is still not quite right, but I did not notice it whilst running. I feel it more walking around the house in bare feet.

An incident I heard about today makes me think I should use the 'beacon' option in Strava so people I select can see where I am when running just in case something happens. When out on a long run I might be hard to find otherwise. I already pay for it, so I just need to turn it on.

Run free, stay safe and stay well.

Is it dark out when you run? You should get one of those flashing strobes that goes on your arm too. I use the fog lights on my truck all the time. Even when it isn't foggy. It gives me a wider view in the dark than just the headlights or daytime running lights do. We tend to get some really dense fog around here different times of the year though.

It has been getting lighter each week and was not bad this morning even with the fog. I do have some reflective bands with flashing lights, but I am not generally on the road and so I tend not to bother. A lot of the clothing and shoes have reflective parts.

Ah, okay, then just having the GPS locating thing is probably good enough.
