Morning Run - Sub-sub-zero

I just finished a 7.231km running that lasted about 0hh:41mm:45ss !

I did not run since Saturday as we had a little more snow and it was looking slippery out there on Monday. By today it had melted off the footpaths, so I decided the chance it. We did wake up to no heating as the condensate pipe on our boiler froze overnight. I think the design is bad if it cannot survive even our winters, but there is not much we can do apart from lag it more. I have done that now. I had to take the chickens some water before I ran as it would have frozen too overnight.

Strava is saying it was -5C, but feeling like -10C. I am not sure it was that bad. I was still in my shorts, but did not feel too cold.

I just decided to do a fairly gentle run. I went out on the cycle path towards Stotfold. After the underpass I overtook a guy, but then was promptly overtaken by a lady who did not look to be working too hard. I know I am not particularly quick, so I just accept this.

I came back with some extra diversions to stretch the distance out a little. I find around 40 minutes to be a good workout without taking up too much time before I start work. I was feeling the cold a bit by the end, but not shivering and the house had warmed up a bit by then. There was hot water for my shower.

I may run again on Friday, but it is likely to be as cold again then. The forecast says it will warm up a little by the weekend and get warmer after that. It may mean some rain though. I will just see how it goes and how I feel. Meanwhile my right foot that was playing up is much better now.

Run free and stay well.

That's a nice run for the winter. I keep thinking about my bike... longingly... maybe it and I need to get together for a winter excursion.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.

You should come here and run. It was -3 F this morning on the drive in. It isn't too bad if there isn't a wind. It chills you to the bone when that is the case. The sky was clear and cold mornings like this make the stars sparkle just a little brighter. I decided to skip my weights workout this week and just stick with aerobics. I think my form is off when I lift and that is what is hurting my back.

I wouldn't want it much colder. It got to -23C somewhere in Scotland last night. About -6 here, but boiler pipe didn't freeze after I covered it.

That is good news! Frozen pipes are the worst!
