I just finished a 10.288km running that lasted about 0hh:59mm:39ss !

It is supposed to be getting warmer, but it was still freezing today and Strava reckons it felt even colder. It was a bit windy at times which will chill you. The advantage of the cold is that it freezes the mud, but then you have an uneven, unyielding surface. Given that I thought I would try the track up past Henlow Grange. That means crossing the railway bridge, which slowed me down a bit both ways.

It did feel cold and I think that discouraged me from going further today. Going around Henlow and Clifton feels like it should be further than 10km. I felt okay though and at times my running felt nice and smooth. Sometimes it does not even feel like much of an effort.

There were some guys working on the old bridge by the station and by the time I came back they were breaking up the road with an pneumatic drill. It was generally a fairly peaceful run as there was not too much traffic and I did not even see a car out in the first few minutes of the run.

I did see a few other runners along the way, but nobody I knew. Although it was cold it was totally dry and the paths were clear of ice. It did seem that any ponds and streams I passed were frozen over. The ducks on the pond in Clifton were standing on the ice.

I took the back path through the allotments in Henlow for a change. Looks like people are preparing their plots for growing stuff. We ought to do the same in our garden, although we have plans to move things around.

I stopped the watch as I walked the last little stretch home as it ticked up to an hour. That felt like enough for today. I am a bit down on what I would like to be doing over a week, but that does not really matter.

Strava had me doing my third fastest time on various segments, but I think that may also be the third time I have done them, so it is nothing special.

I will be happy when it gets a few degrees warmer and that may encourage me to go further.

Run free and stay well.

I'm hoping the ice will clear today as it's still too dodgy to head out due to ice. I managed to travel the length of our driveway on by backside Wednesday. Looks like it'll get well above freezing tomorrow.

I'm wary when there is ice, but it was not slippery out there today. Forecast says up to 7C by tomorrow morning.

Stay well.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.
