Morning Run - Back at it

I just finished a 6.795km running that lasted about 0hh:40mm:10ss !

It is nearly two weeks since my last run. As my legs were not seeming to recover I thought I would give them a decent break. I have done some walking in that time. This morning was quite cold, but not frosty like it has been recently. I headed for Fairfield to avoid the school crowds.

The first kilometre was fairly slow, but my legs did not feel too bad. I got faster as I went on. It was pretty quiet out there. I noticed that the new houses by the WI have the wooden structure just about done. That has happened since I last ran past there. Up by the Methodist church there was a lot of rubbish on the path. It looks like a bin overflowed. There is an old guy who goes round emptying them and generally keeping things tidy. That will be extra work for him.

I got up the West Drive hill okay and was able to keep running all the way around. The times are nothing spectacular, but I just wanted to see how it felt.

I will have another run on Thurday, but am no going for anything too strenuous. At the weekend I will not go as far as I had been doing. It is fun to try and break personal records, but I just want to be able to keep running.

Run free and stay well.

Nice results! I keep saying to myself that I have to get back running too but I always tend to find excuses not to do it :(

Starting again is hard even after a short break. Just have to make it part of your routine. I know it does me good even though it doesn't always feel like it. I quite like just getting out as I'm at home most of the time now.

Same here. And I really have to make a routine from my free time spent almost doing nothing daily :(

How does that work for you? Walking I mean. It has to be hard to resist the urge not to just break out into a full sprint or something like that. Especially when you see some open path ahead of you! Nice job on your outing today! We are supposed to hit 80 degrees today, so I expect I will get some double exercise. My workout in the morning and mowing the lawn this evening!

When I'm walking I am not thinking about running. Not usually dressed for it and it does not really occur to me to run. It warms up here during the day. We have considered getting the pool set up, but I am not convinced it is warm enough yet.

Oh gosh. We still have a good month+ before people start thinking about opening their pools here.

Man... the amount you run you could have 100 weeks off and still be fitter than me 😂 Well done!

(ps: why is there always an overfilled bin near a church in england? theres one near my mums thats full too....do people just think god will empty it)

I'm just an old man who is not giving up on life :)

I suspect someone dumped their household rubbish in the bin as it's not that busy a place. I assume the church was not having a service yesterday.

Jesus cries when you litter!

Cheers. I feel my age at times and maybe need to let my body recover more. I got into running late and still have lots I want to achieve.
