Being Canadian, I know plenty of people who get just the same way about Canada and ice hockey. I enjoy the games, but not to the point I'm yelling at the TV.

It is just something to get excited about and could be any sport really. I don't find soccer that interesting to watch. Ice hockey is at least faster, but I don't see it often.
