Champ Bailey 2011 Topps NFL Card - Denver Broncos Cornerback

Champ Bailey is simply one of the greatest athletes in the history of American sports. This dude was a freak! As early as his high school and college days Champ shined in all athletics he competed in. In college Champ played in EVERY phase of the game. Offense, defense and special teams. SHEESH!

I remember Bailey well, even as far back to when he was a Washington Redskin from 1999-2003. He was my big bro's favorite player, he was devastated when he ended up getting traded to the Broncos.

Most people remember Bailey as a Denver Bronco though, the team he spent ten years with from 2004-2013.

During Champ's time in the NFL there wasn't a receiver he couldn't cover. It's sad to see he never won defensive player of the year, or win a Super Bowl. But this man's career is dripping with other awards and stats.

So dumb that present day cards don't list stats like this. I say it every time because I find it so ridiculous...

Champ holds two strong NFL records that really stand out to me, and really simply explain how dominant he was as a player:

  • Most Pro Bowl Selections EVER by a defensive back, with 12
  • Most Passes Defended EVER with 203

I mean, those two stats should say everything you need to know about Champ. What a SAVAGE! Champ was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019!
