First ride with Isotonic drinks and eating, does it make a difference?

@ne9en just finished a 58.45km ride, that lasted for 135 minutes.

Description from Strava: Good ride, stronger winds than expected. Eating with a 140+ heartrate isn't easy, breathing through the nose... I do feel it helped a lot, now I didn't feel weaker in the end, even after two hours.
