Que hermoso es el futbol definitivamente, todos los amantes del balón pie, soccer o como quieran llamarlo se regocijan de las bondades de este deporte, y es que la máxima competición europea de clubes nos regalara un clásico del futbol mundial, un clásico histórico que paraliza las calles de Italia cada vez que ocurre, no importa si eres fanático de esos equipos o no, lo cierto es que cuando el AC Milan y el Inter se enfrentan todo el planeta está pendiente, y no es para menos, pues se enfrentan dos de los 3 mejores equipos del país de la bota, los cuales también tienen su peso en las páginas futboleras del viejo continente.

El Inter de Milan ha conseguido ganar la orejona en tres oportunidades mientras que el AC Milan lo ha hecho en 7 ocasiones, en esta edición solo uno de ellos tendrá la oportunidad de aumentar esa cantidad cuando enfrente en las finales al ganador resultante de la llave entre el Real Madrid y el Manchester City, consiguiendo asi una nueva final europea para el calcio luego de muchos años cuando la Juve perdió precisamente ante los merengues.

Antes de llegar a semifinales el AC Milan enfrento al mejor equipo de Italia en la actualidad, el Napoli de Spalletti, y no eran favoritos en las tarjetas para ganar la llave, pero tenían algo a su favor, dos factores que inclinaron la balanza hacia ellos, aquí no hablare de resultados previos en la liga sino de experiencia e historia, esto es algo que para los del sur de Italia es desconocido en su totalidad, y sin importar que tenían todas las de ganar no pudieron hacerlo en ninguna de las dos ocasiones, la ansiedad por seguir avanzando no les permitió anotar los goles necesarios para ello, tuvieron muchas oportunidades pero muchas de ellas la desperdiciaron, en otras ocasiones “Magic” Maignan fue el encargado de mantener el arco en cero, ¡que buen portero este francés! Me atrevo a especular que si hubiera disputado la copa del mundo posiblemente el máximo trofeo estaría en suelo francés y no argentino.

El Milan por su parte, totalmente acostumbrado a jugar en estas instancias, enfrentaron el duelo contra los napolitanos de la mejor manera posible, y con un maravilloso Rafael Leao pudieron superar con creces la eliminatoria, en definitiva el Milan fue absolutamente superior, el primer partido en el San Siro demostró un control del juego de principio a fin y en este segundo hicieron lo mismo en el Diego Armando Maradona, jugar con la desesperación y ansiedad del rival le resulto bastante fácil a Pioli y sus jugadores llenos de confianza ejecutaron las ideas del entrenador a la perfección, al final dos goles fueron suficientes para acabar con las aspiraciones napolitanas y avanzar asi a las semifinales.

Tanto el Inter como el Benfica han quedado campeones de Uefa Champions League, eso a primera instancia sumado con el desempeño de ambos clubes nos deparaba una serie emocionante y bastante pareja, muchos quedaron decepcionados con el rendimiento de los portugueses en la ida pero yo quede encantado con la superioridad del Inter en esa ocasión. Para la vuelta se esperaba intensidad de principio a fin, un Benfica lanzado al ataque y un Inter protegiendo el resultado con el catenaccio, sin embargo esto no fue asi, y aquí debo dar mucho crédito a Inzaghi que supo leer el partido y mantuvo su juego ofensivo desde el inicio.

Esto rápidamente dio sus resultados, apenas habían pasado 14 minutos y ya se encontraban por delante en el marcador tras un golazo de Nicoló Barella, el segundo del italiano en la serie. Con un global de 3-0 todo indicaba que la eliminatoria estaba sellada, el Benfica intentaba atacar pero le sucedió algo parecido al Napoli, no encontraban el gol, además de que Onana también hacia de las suyas para evitarlo, aun asi la diana llego al minuto 38 de la primera parte, lo cual dio esperanza a los lusos de conseguir la remontada. La segunda mitad se lanzaron al ataque y por momentos el Inter se vio muy replegado atrás, peligrosamente habían retrocedido mucho y el Benfica estuvo cerca de anotar su segundo gol, pero al no hacerlo se vieron vulnerados por Lautaro Martínez al 65 y posteriormente por Joaquín Correa al 78, con una ventaja de 4 goles en el global y tan poco tiempo para remontar la eliminatoria si estaba sellada. Finalmente los lusos anotaron dos goles más pero eso solo sirvió para maquillar el resultado, el Inter fue superior en todos los aspectos y de esa forma superaron ampliamente la eliminatoria.

Por último y para concluir, ambos equipos llegan muy bien a las semifinales, en el campeonato local no es lo mismo pero acá en Europa muestran una cara bastante diferente, sin duda han abocado la mayor parte de sus fuerzas a esta competición, y ahora que solo uno de ellos estará en la final no podemos esperar menos que una entrega total en las eliminatorias que se nos vienen a inicios del mes de Mayo, particularmente no tengo un favorito para esta llave, pero estoy seguro que ganara el mejor de ambos, y al final todos disfrutaremos de un buen futbol, como el que históricamente estos equipos nos han dado.

Finally and to conclude, both teams arrive very well to the semifinals, in the local championship it is not the same but here in Europe they show a quite different face, undoubtedly they have devoted most of their strength to this competition, and now that only one of them will be in the final we can expect nothing less than a total commitment in the playoffs that are coming at the beginning of May, I do not particularly have a favorite for this key, but I am sure that the best of the two will win, and in the end we will all enjoy good soccer, as historically these teams have given us.
