Saludos Hivers, El Triatlón es un deporte maravilloso, exigente y llamativo por el esfuerzo físico que conlleva, es de esas disciplinas que respetamos mucho y deseamos que Venezuela tenga un sitial de honor, como lo hizo Gilberto González, en su momento fue uno de los mejores triatletas latinoamericanos; En este sentido cuando nos enteramos de la hazaña lograda por Rosa Martínez el pasado fin de semana, nos llenó de total alegría, medalla de Bronce en la Copa del Mundo de Triatlón Viña del Mar, Chile 2025, terminó la prueba con un tiempo de 57 minutos y 10 segundos, por detrás de la luxemburgués Juana Lehair (56:13) y la española Sara Guerrero (56:35).

Greetings Hivers, Triathlon is a wonderful, demanding, and striking sport due to the physical effort it requires. It is one of those disciplines that we hold in high regard and hope that Venezuela achieves a place of honor in, just as Gilberto González did; at his time, he was one of the best Latin American triathletes. In this regard, when we learned of the feat accomplished by Rosa Martínez this past weekend, it filled us with complete joy: she won the Bronze medal at the Viña del Mar Triathlon World Cup, Chile 2025, finishing the race with a time of 57 minutes and 10 seconds, behind Luxembourg's Juana Lehair (56:13) and Spain's Sara Guerrero (56:35).

Este es un logro sin precedentes para el Deporte nacional, lo que pudiera significar un antes y después, un hito dentro del triatlón venezolano. Es destacar el pundonor de Rosa, ya que ante las mejores triatletas del mundo, no se amilanó y sacó todo su talento y consistencia mental, ha pasado por diferentes situaciones personales difíciles que sin embargo la han fortalecido para hoy en día convertirse en la nueva cara del Ciclo Olímpico para la delegación criolla (Si, debemos pensar en eso) asegurando que su próximo compromiso más grande es en diciembre, con los Juegos Bolivarianos, obviamente con la meta de llevarse la presea dorada, pero también se observa a través de sus palabras qué es una mujer de garra, que tiene objetivos muy claros y siempre lucha para lo grande.

This is an unprecedented achievement for national sports, which could mark a before and after, a milestone within Venezuelan triathlon. Rosa's determination stands out, as she did not falter before the world's best triathletes and demonstrated all her talent and mental consistency. She affirms that her next major commitment is in December, at the Bolivarian Games, obviously aiming to win the gold medal. “Me da mucha felicidad decir “voy a una Copa Continental y estoy en las primeras cinco”. Incluso me atrevo a decir que puedo dar la pelea en el top tres del continente. Pero siempre pienso más allá, siempre quiero mucho más y la verdad deseo estar entre las primeras cinco del mundo. Ir a un mundial, ir a una Copa del Mundo y estar entre las primeras cinco. Estoy trabajando duro porque obviamente quiero llegar a los Juegos Olímpicos Los Ángeles 2028 y es un proceso de cuatro años, fuerte. Pero tenemos toda la garra y toda la dedicación para hacerlo”, aseguró la atleta monaguense que lleva ocho podios en las últimas doce pruebas disputadas, esta actuación tiene mucha relevancia porque coloca al país en el ojo de las grandes potencias de este deporte.

“It makes me very happy to say ‘I am going to a Continental Cup and I am among the top five.’ I even dare to say that I can compete for the top three in the continent. But I always think beyond that, I always want much more, and honestly, I wish to be among the top five in the world. Going to a World Championship, going to a World Cup and being among the top five. I am working hard because I obviously want to reach the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, and it is a strong four-year process. But we have all the determination and dedication to achieve it,” assured the Monagas athlete, who has eight podiums in the last twelve competitions he has participated in. This performance is very significant because it puts the country in the spotlight of the major powers of this sport.

Sin embargo se debe masificar esta disciplina en todo el país, que nazcan diferentes clubes, competencias de manera frecuente, que se ejecute un verdadero plan de desarrollo, tenemos mucho potencial para estos deportes de resistencia y alta intensidad, porque como dice la misma Rosa ““Nada es imposible. Con garra y talento, el triatlón venezolano va para adelante”.

However, this discipline needs to be popularized throughout the country, with the creation of different clubs and competitions happening frequently, and a true development plan should be implemented. We have a lot of potential for these endurance and high-intensity sports, because as Rosa herself says, "Nothing is impossible. With determination and talent, Venezuela triathlon is moving forward."

Creo que este triunfo de Rosa debe estar catalogado como lo mejor del deporte nacional en este año, eso significa el resurgir de este deporte, una espacialidad que había sido olvidada, con poca difusión, hoy renace de las cenizas como el Ave Fénix. Vamos Rosa, estamos contigo.

I believe that Rosa's triumph should be considered the best in national sports this year; it signifies the resurgence of this sport, a discipline that had been forgotten and barely promoted, but today it rises from the ashes like the Phoenix. Go Rosa, we are with you.
