(ESP-ENG) ¿Triplete a la vista?
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
The last time a treble in Europe was seen was with Manchester City in 2023 and with Barcelona in 2015 under Luis Enrique. Achieving this feat is not easy, it requires a physical but above all mental preparation that is able to overcome the different challenges and burdens of fighting in three different competitions. The Culés have already taken the first step by beating their biggest rival on Saturday, in one of the best classics of recent times, the final of the Copa de Rey. This season they have played three of these matches, the one the day before yesterday being the best and by far the best. But the road still looks complicated, on Wednesday they are in the Champions League semifinals with Inter and next weekend is the fourth classic that may end up deciding the fate of La Liga.
In La Liga there are 5 rounds left and the difference between the leader and the second place is only 4 points, that is to say, nothing is written yet. If Barcelona keeps up the pace it is going and takes advantage of the momentum it is going through and beats Madrid on May 11, there would be nothing to do. Winning La Liga depends solely on them. If Saturday's game was electrifying, I can't imagine what the next one will be like, the emotional charge that will be on the field will be unmatched. Beyond the eternal rivalry, these games are tainted by things that should not affect them. In the Cup final the refereeing played a relevant role because of the whole issue, the accusations made by Real Madrid TV, the press conference of the refereeing staff, the press releases, etc.; a total embarrassment that, whether we like it or not, ends up conditioning certain things.
There are 4 finals left for this team: two semifinals, an eventual Champions League final and the clásico. What surprises me and what I have already mentioned before is the evolution of this Barca under Flick, it is an unrecognizable team if we take into account last season's team with Xavi. Unrecognizable in every way. This plays in our favor because when there is a harmony and there is such a cohesive atmosphere in the locker room, I infer, it is very difficult for things to go wrong. Soccer is mental. With Inter it will be complicated, the Italians are second in Serie A but being a bit inconsistent, of their last 5 league games they have won only 2. The detail is that in the Champions League everything is reset, the vibe in the different competitions is very different.
But there is a complication: the calendar. As the days go by, the physical strain on these players is increasing, so the risk of injury increases. The final was 120 minutes long and next Wednesday is another demanding game. For the sake of the show, let's hope that nothing will happen. Now, let's go to the golden question: is Barcelona capable of winning the long-awaited treble? - Personally, I think so. Against Inter they are favorites, the story will be different in a hypothetical final and in terms of the league they are far ahead of Madrid in several aspects. And I mention the Whites because they are the most direct rival in the fight for the local championship.
That everything can turn around and they will only end up with the Cup? - It is possible. Los Merengues are a wounded team, so they may be more dangerous that way. It is true that by winning that last clásico the difference would still be only one point but without a doubt the pressure would be asphyxiating for the end of the season and therefore the margin for error would be minimal. Not to mention the Champions League, which is a different parallel universe. In short, Barcelona has in its hands the resolution of its path that can be the best in 10 years or one more in the pile. Curious fact: PSG is also fighting for the treble. There could be a Champions League final between these two clubs and in that final they would already know that by winning it, they would win all three trophies. Many things await us.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
