El batear .400..Nuevo record en la LVBP/ to hit for .400.. New record in the LVBP

Saludos amigos del deporte! Hoy quisiera hablar un poco con respecto al gran logro de esta semana, el titulo de bateo en la liga Venezolana de Béisbol profesional *LVBP*, con .430 de promedio al bate de Alí Castillo, así como también los .414 del segundo lugar Danry Vazquez. (También se habla de Hernán Pérez con .404 pero ese parece con un promedio de .394 en la página de PelotaBinaria que lleva estadísticas del béisbol profesional venezolano).

El anterior record era de Bob Abreu en la temporada 98-99 con .419, Castillo obtuvo con mas aparicionesal bate que Abreu, lo cual hace este record más meritorio “Aquella vez, cuando implantó su tope, el Comedulce sí necesitó la ayuda reglamentaria de sumarle las apariciones legales que le faltaban, a fin de poder ser campeón bate.”

Today I want to talk about a great accomplishment of the week, the batting title obtained by Ali Castillo with a new record of .430 of average, in the Venezuelan professional baseball league, Danry Vasques also broke the 400 barrier, with a .414 o avg. Y es que si algo es difícil en el béisbol es lograr batear para .400, cuando ya se consideran grandes bateadores a quienes logran 100 puntos menos (el tener un promedio sobre los .300 es excelente) de hecho en grandes ligas este año se van a cumplir nada menos que 80 años desde la última vez que alguien lo logró, como lo fue Ted Williams en 1941 con .401 de promedio al bate, en esa liga es más difícil incluso alcanzar la cifra, no solo por la calidad de los lanzadores sino por la gran cantidad de veces al bate que se consiguen en una temporada en 1941 por ejemplo Williams tuvo 606 apariciones al plato y 456 turnos legales, claro con 147 bases por bolas para un impresionante porcentaje de embasado (OBP) de .553 fuente. Desde allí el más cercano fue Tony Gwynn con un promedio de .394 en la corta campaña de 1994 y en los últimos 20 años tenemos a Ichiro con .372 y Barry Bonds con .370 en los años 2004 y 2002 respectivamente lo pueden ver aquí

En Venezuela entre los más notables que han llegado a tal cifra podemos destacar al gran Victor Davalillo quien logró un promedio de .400 en la temporada 62-63 también lograron los .400 Dave Parker .414 en 76-77 y Pablo García con .402 en 1946 fuente otros lo intentaron pero no pudieron como José Tartabull que tuvo en una cerrada lucha por el cetro de bateo con Luis “Camaleón” García en la zafra 1964-1965. Ambos coquetearon con los .400, pero no lo consiguieron. García, ganó la puja. Su promedio fue de .394 por .393 de Tartabull. Davalillo ganó la tercera de sus cuatro coronas de bateo con .395 en la 1967-1968. Pablo Sandoval (.396), lo hizo en la 2008-2009; Alcides Escobar (.393), en la 2009-2010; Alex Cabrera (.391) en la 2013-2014, torneo en el que se alzó con la Triple Corona, y Alex Romero (.396), en la 2015-2016. Algo que comparten Davalillo, Abreu y castillo es que los tres tienen varias temporadas sobre los .400 pero solo en una lograron la cantidad de turnos al bate para el campeonato de bateo *Davalillo bateó para .406 en la temporada 61-62 y veinte años después .413 a los 42 años en la temporada 81-82, Abreu .402 en la 01-02 y Castillo .408 en la 17-18 lo pueden ubicar aquí, lo que para mí hace a estos bateadores excepcionales en la liga. Así que en hora buena, para Castillo y Vasques, y a la expectativa de que van a lograr en las próximas temporadas!!

Something that Davalillo, Abreu and Castillo share is that the three of them had more than one season hitting over .400 but only in one got the minimal number of plate appearances Davalillo batted for .406 in 61-62 season and 20 years later .413 at the age of 42 in the 81-82 season, Abreu .402 in the 01-02 season and castillo .408 in the 17-18 season you can find it here, to mi makes them exceptional hitters in this league.
