DOMINOES: A VENEZUELAN FAMILY PASTIME|| ESP-ENG
El dominó es un juego tradicional del cual se cree se originó en Asia y que debe la forma de sus fichas como una modificación de los dados y consiste en colocar estas fichas de manera ordenada según la figura o número marcado en su superficie; Básicamente se juega en equipos de dos participantes sobre una mesa cuadrada y consiste en sincronizar las piezas de ambos jugadores para colocar todas las piezas sobre la mesa, acumulando los puntos que derivan de las fichas del equipo contrario hasta sumar un total de 100 puntos. Se practica en Venezuela y la mayoría de los países del continente americano, con especial auge en Venezuela y Cuba, entre otros, donde en cada país se le da un estilo diferente y diversas modalidades, incluso con un numero mayor al de 28 piezas que acostumbramos usar acá en mi país.
En un principio, este juego se utilizaba para hacer apuestas y era considerado uno más del azar, pero hoy en día podemos decir que el dominó es incluso un excelente método lúdico para la enseñanza ya que promueve el uso de las matemáticas, en vista de que consiste en conocer las piezas del juego y encajarlas de tal manera que se combinen con las de tu compañero para así lograr ganar cada set o como se le dice coloquialmente “mano” del partido. Igualmente, al jugarlo se requiere de mucha concentración para establecer estrategias y organizar cada jugada, así como observar e identificar las jugadas de tus oponentes.
De mi parte, disfruto jugarlo con mis hijos, a ellos les gusta mucho este juego porque además es una tradición familiar que viene desde mis abuelos, mis padres y ahora sigue la próxima generación jajaja. He tenido la oportunidad de jugarlo al estar de visita en varias ciudades de Venezuela y es agradable saber que mucha gente lo practica sanamente.

Likewise, playing it requires a lot of concentration to establish strategies and organize each move, as well as to observe and identify the moves of your opponents.
For my part, I enjoy playing it with my children, they really like this game because it is also a family tradition that comes from my grandparents, my parents and now the next generation is following hahaha. I have had the opportunity to play it while visiting several cities in Venezuela and it is nice to know that many people play it healthily.
