ESP-ENG || Primer Titulo ATP para ASLÁN KARÁTSEV ¡Enhorabuena para el Tenis!

Acabamos de ver la gran final del Duty free Dubai Tennis Championships, perteneciente al APT Wolrd tour 500, un torneo lleno de emociones de principio a fin y donde una vez más se impuso la juventud de la nueva generación de talentosos tenistas a nivel mundial.
Y es que al ver como transcurrió cada partido no fue tan sorprendente ver los resultados donde cada uno de los favoritos y grandes nombres del momento fueron quedando eliminados de este prestigioso torneo que se juega sobre pista dura, a manos de la nueva camada de jóvenes jugadores y que representan la bocanada de aire fresco que necesita este hermoso deporte para mantener su vigencia ante el inminente ocaso de su generación dorada, quienes decidieron no participar este año cada uno por sus razones personales (Rafa, Roger y Novak “quien aún tiene mucho que dar”.

And seeing how each match went it was not so surprising to see the results where each of the favorites and big names of the moment were eliminated from this prestigious tournament played on hard court, at the hands of the new crop of young players who represent the breath of fresh air that this beautiful sport needs to maintain its relevance before the imminent decline of its golden generation, who decided not to participate this year each for their personal reasons (Rafa, Roger and Novak "who still has a lot to give").

En esta maravillosa final se enfrentaron el Sudafricano Lloyd Harris y el Ruso Aslán Karátsev, con la victoria imponente de este último en imponente 6-3 / 6-2 un resultado que me impresionó por la amplia diferencia en puntos, a que se había generado una gran expectativa e inclusivo Harris superaba a Aslán en las apuestas.

Estos nuevos prospectos del tenis se han forjado un camino difícil pero no imposible y en este torneo de Dubai, le han puesto bastante empeño por lo que hemos disfrutado de un gran nivel de juego en cada enfrentamiento. Debo reconocer que a pesar del favoritismo de ambos finalistas, por haber enfrentado a la llave más dura, yo me inclinaba por el Sudafricano Lloyd Harris pero al parecer no le alcanzó la energía y también por la gran calidad de juego que demostró Aslán el día de hoy. En verdad ha impresionado a propios y extraños, por la fortaleza con la que se impuso para obtener su primer título ATP, es decir, también vimos historia, una historia que apenas comienza y ojalá que vengan muchos títulos más para ambos jugadores.

El camino recorrido en esta competición fue cuesta arriba para ambos, por parte de Lloyd enfrentó en primera ronda al australiano Cristopher O´connor (6-7; 6-4: 6-1), luego pasó la prueba de fuego ante el austriaco y flamante favorito Dominic Thiem con un (6-3; 6-4), luego dio cuenta de Serbio Filip Krajinovic (7-6; 6/4), a Kei Nishikori (6/1; 3/6; 6-3) y en durísima contienda al Canadiense Denis Shapovalov (6/7; 6/4; 7/6), con lo que observamos la calidad de jugadores a los que superó en su camino hacia la final.

Por su parte el ahora campeón comenzó en su primera ronda contra el Británico Daniel Evans (4/6; 6/4; 6/4), al italiano Lorenzo Sonego (6/6; 6/3; 6/2), a otro italiano estrella como Jannik Sinner (6/7; 6/3; 6/2) y finalmente a su compatriota ruso Andrey Rublev por (6/2; 4/6; 6/4). Para tener ambos unas preliminares de lujo antes de su esperado encuentro en la cancha central de Dubai.

No se debe ser egoísta al hablar de deportes y siempre dar méritos a quien lo merece, ambos jugadores nos han deleitado con lo mejor de su juego, han demostrado gran nivel y ha ganado el mejor, el ruso Aslán Karátsev ha ganado de manera categórica, ha sido muy inteligente al conseguir aplicar las técnicas correctas para imponerse. Ha sido el mejor sobre la cancha e incluso ha mostrado algo de ser humano al sonreír por unos segundos en la entrevista, ya que es por lo general inexpresivo y casi nunca lo hace. Felicitaciones para ambos atletas, en verdad merecen una ovación y como dice el viejo pero sabio dicho: ¡Gloria al Vencedor, Honor al vencido!

One should not be selfish when talking about sports and always give merits to those who deserve it, both players have delighted us with the best of their game, they have shown great level and the best has won, the Russian Aslan Karatsev has won categorically, he has been very smart to get to apply the right techniques to impose. He has been the best on the court and has even shown something of being human by smiling for a few seconds in the interview, since he is usually inexpressive and almost never does it.
