Hola amigos, hemos sido testigos de una tajante demostración de superioridad en la final del Rolex Masters 1000 de Monte-Carlo, donde el griego Stefános Tsitsipás inscribió su nombre en la historia como nuevo campeón de este prestigioso torneo. Luego de 10 días de una competición llena de sorpresas y exhibición de buen tenis, arribamos a la cita estelar con dos jóvenes y muy talentosos finalistas, un Andrey Rublev que dio concierto en cada partido disputado ante rivales de gran nombre como Casper Ruud, Roberto Bautista y Rafael Nadal, mientras que el griego transitó un camino “aparentemente” menos escarpado dejando en el camino a Daniel Evans, Alejandro Davidovich y Christian Garin, destacando el hecho de que en ningún partido tuvo la necesidad de jugar un tercer set. ¿Sería correcto decir que ganó por haber llegado más fresco? Hello friends, we have witnessed a clear demonstration of superiority in the final of the Rolex Masters 1000 Monte-Carlo, where the Greek Stéfanos Tsitsipás inscribed his name in history as the new champion of this prestigious tournament. After 10 days of a competition full of surprises and exhibitions of good tennis, we arrived at the main event with two young and very talented finalists, Andrey Rublev who gave a concert in every match played against big name opponents such as Casper Ruud, Roberto Bautista and Rafael Nadal, while the Greek walked a "seemingly" less steep path leaving Daniel Evans, Alejandro Davidovich and Christian Garin in the way, highlighting the fact that in no match he had the need to play a third set.
Would it be correct to say that he won because he arrived fresher?
My answer is No, because he dispatched each contender precisely because of his high level of play, which he quietly advanced relentlessly to the final.

Según el sorteo abre Stéfanos y lo hace con un saque potente, sin embargo Andrey lo esperaba con su buena defensa para llevarlo hasta el deuce, no obstante el heleno hace gala de su buen control y de una técnica muy bien depurada con la que le juega al contrapié y deja parado al ruso, que en su turno de saque observa como le están devolviendo todo lo que lanza. Logrando el griego hace el primer break del encuentro y sostiene con tranquilidad su servicio para colocarse 3 - 0 en tan solo 10 minutos de partido ¡Asombroso!
En el cuarto juego Rublev vuelve al juego y sostiene su saque con firmeza, pero Tsitsipás no cede el ningún momento la iniciativa y la agresividad con su saque y coloca el partido 4 – 1, e inmediatamente hace presión sobre el servicio del ruso, combinando golpes cruzados pegados a la línea de fondo, sin embargo Andrey sostiene. En lo consiguiente cada jugador mantiene el saque y cierra el griego el primer set con parcial de 6 - 3 con la brevedad de 32 minutos.

According to the draw, Stefanos opens and does so with a powerful serve, however Andrey was waiting for him with his good defence to take it to the deuce, however the Greek shows his good control and a very well refined technique with which he plays against the grain and stops the Russian, who in his turn to serve observes how they are returning everything he throws. The Greek gets the first break of the match and calmly holds his serve to take a 3 - 0 lead in just 10 minutes of the match - amazing!
In the fourth game Rublev returns to the game and holds his serve firmly, but Tsitsipas does not give up the initiative and aggressiveness with his serve at any time and places the match 4 - 1, and immediately puts pressure on the Russian's serve, combining crosscourt shots hit to the baseline, however Andrey holds. In the following, each player holds serve and the Greek closes the first set with a 6 - 3 break in the short time of 32 minutes.

Inician las acciones del segundo set con oportunidades de saque concretadas por ambos competidores, pero en el tercer juego Tsitsipás hace unos tiros ganadores al estilo maestro, con su backhand en paralelo y un dropshot impecable con lo que logra el quiebre. Seguidamente se mantiene la tónica del partido, cada jugador hace lo suyo, Stéfanos ataca incesante y Rublev lucha por defenderse e incluso logra dejar muy buenas jugadas de contragolpe, pero eso no le alcanza para ganar. Ya estando 5 - 3 y sacando Andrey observamos nuevamente la arremetida del griego que sigue presionando hasta lograr el rompimiento con una pelota fuera y ganar con autoridad su primer título monegasco, en igual marcador de 6 - 3 deteniendo en reloj en 1:11 minutos.

Then the tone of the match continued, each player did his own thing, Stefanos attacked relentlessly and Rublev struggled to defend and even managed to leave very good counter-attacking moves, but that was not enough to win. Su buen control de la distancia en cancha, esto le permitió atacar con potencia en todos los lados, dándole la confianza necesaria para demostrar su juego sin preocupaciones.

Su gran golpe de revés a una sola mano, estuvo sencillamente intratable, con éste logró mantener la bola en play.

Gran velocidad de piernas, el griego me daba la impresión de que estaba usando patines en línea jajaja. Bajaba a la red y se desplazaba con mucha comodidad y esto le permitía anticiparse a los golpes de Rublev.

Mentalidad y concentración en su máxima expresión. No le vi luchar pelotas innecesarias, no le vi cometer prácticamente ningún error no forzado y siempre llevó la iniciativa de aceleración de intercambios de pelota.

Hoy Stéfanos Tsitsipás fue sencillamente superior a Andrey Rublev y se va arriba en el duelo personal de lo que se visualiza como una de las nuevas grandes rivalidades del tenis mundial.
Ha sido sin lugar a dudas un gran torneo de maestros en el comienzo de la temporada sobre arcilla.

Great leg speed, the Greek gave me the impression he was wearing inline skates hahaha. He went down to the net and moved very comfortably and this allowed him to anticipate Rublev's shots.

Mentality and concentration at its best. I didn't see him fight unnecessary balls, I didn't see him make hardly any unforced errors and he always took the initiative in accelerating ball exchanges.

Today, Stéfanos Tsitsipás was simply superior to Andrey Rublev and goes up in the personal duel of what is seen as one of the new great rivalries of world tennis.
It has certainly been a great Masters tournament at the start of the clay-court season.
