Another weekend games for the pleasure of the eye. Being a Chelsea fan, it wasn’t all fun as we were held to a draw by the saints at their home. Let’s start with the event that happened at Anfield stadium. It was more headache for Klopp as the Kops lose again and this time, it's to a fellow struggler Everton.

The lose felt more than a loss to the Liverpool faithful’s as they lost to a direct rival and the rival now have a bragging right over them now. Two un-replied goals from the toffees got them the much-deserved win as they put in their best performance ever seen in a very long time.

Liverpool did well but at times, to win a football match, a little bit of luck is needed. One major concern for the reds for their defensive performance. While many will accept the fact, their defensive crises might have weakened them, the biggest worry is that no replacement has managed to do well. in fact, they have been no real replacement as midfielders have had to fill in at the backs as even midfielders switched to the back as also carried one knock or the other.

That doesn’t take away the good game that Everton had on Saturday night. Talk about the good solid organization from both the defence and attacking departments, Everton had it all. I felt each player in the Everton line up gave 200% of what they would have given naturally in a game.

The game started with Everton drawing the first very early in the match after Liverpool failed to clear the ball off their half. The sloppy reaction resulted in the ball falling on the foot of James who has been wonderful since his sales to Everton. There was nothing the makeshift Liverpool defence could do to his awesomely laid defence-splitting pass which fell nicely onto Richerlison foot.

He calmly slotted the ball at the bottom right corner far from the reach of the Liverpool goalie Allison who has been under pressure for a while. The first Toffees goal came in the 3rd minutes and that gave them the needed boost to want to get more from the match.

After the goal, the Reds grew into the game more and causes a problem for the Everton side. More of the scoreline being at 1-0 in favour of Everton is due to the heroics of Pickford at the goal post. He was awesome and excellent has he kept making saves upon safe to keep his side in front. He will properly be named man of the match has he made more than 6 high profile saves in the match.

It wasn’t until the 83rd minute that the Everton team knew they have won the match as Sigurdsson converted a penalty won by Dominic Clevert Lewis. while the incidence leading to the penalty was questionable, the build-up to incidence was astonishing. A quick counter-attacking football showed how quick DCL was as literally outran everyone to meet the pass from Richerlison. It also showed how quick the toffees could convert defence to attack.

Although I have reservations regarding the penalty but could be done to change it now. Liverpool didn’t play badly but Everton deserves this win. The way Everton celebrated after the final whistle, once could easily think they won a cup title or the league. The celebrated the win because it was a big one and a win everyone worked so hard for.

Liverpool is currently seventh on the log table and it's looking like they will not qualify for the champions league if their performances don’t change. Rumours are spreading of an inside rift between their players. A lack of champions league football could change a lot of things at the Liverpool team and this could see lots of their star players seeking for it elsewhere. One thing which is sure is that Liverpool will be active when this summer transfer window. They will be hoping to be well-stocked to avert crises like the one they are facing now.

So for now, as a Chelsea fan, I hope they never recover so has to make the top four race, a little easier for my team which has another 4 teams they are competing with for the fourth position on the English log.
