A cordial greeting to all the members of #hive, today I woke up thinking about the idea of making a unique post in my blog something that I have not already done, and came to me the idea of doing this writing in which I talk about chess but today is not a topic that has to do with any move, move or combination to win but rather I want to talk about chess as a means of education and the great satisfaction I feel today to bring you this topic to encourage the teaching of this sport is very great. Since every person who spends a few minutes reading this post will be learning something new and in turn will teach another and that other will teach another. How many important things do we have in our lives? many, and contributing to the good education of people can become one more of that list that we all have, for me it means a lot that you are reading this writing because it means that you are one of those who believe in good education.

I want to share with you my opinion about chess using it as an educational medium, seeing that nowadays most of the children are not being encouraged an educational model worthy of following and I say this because of the following:

  • We are allowing our children to choose as a role model the heroes of television that today is so damaged, we are allowing children to take as a role model people who lack ethics, empty in knowledge, people who do not tell anything important or edifying to reasoning and it bothers me that many parents support this, taking it to sports, will you let your child take as a role model the soccer player who beats the rival, who shouts vulgarities or fakes injuries to deceive the referee? because that is what our children are seeing. We should each do our bit so that our children's role models are writers, scientists, teachers, doctors, and if they are going to be athletes, that they are really worthy role models, as for example, in an interview with Rafael Nadal was asked: Do you feel important for being famous? to which he answered "no, I can't feel important because the only thing I know how to do well is to pass a ball from one side of a net to the other, I can't feel important for that ", this is the kind of behavior we need in sports role models.
For me it means a lot that you can learn how important good education is and if you already know it I want to thank you because we are the people so we can help to change this situation we are living today. without more to say in this brief introduction, let's start.

¿Qué es el Ajedrez y de donde viene?/What is Chess and where does it come from?

Defining chess as a dictionary concept is very difficult because it can be a game for fun and that's it, that's the end of the definition. It can also be a very demanding competitive sport if you take it seriously and want to compete at a high level, but, from a certain level even if you do not become a professional player it can even become an art, you can create beauties in your games and then when amateur players see your moves they will feel what a music lover feels when listening to classical music. Also chess is called science sport, since the preparation of a player even if he is not a professional, his preparation path is similar to that of a scientist and I say it basically the principle of trial and error.
As for its origin there are many versions but according to the archaeological remains it is said that chess has its origin since the 6th century and has more than 1500 years of documented history. It was born in what today is known as India, the Muslims took it to Spain around the 10th century and when they took it there only the millionaire Muslims played it, with the passing of the centuries it began to be played by everybody, chess as we know it today was modernized in Spain since the Muslims did not allow any female figure to play on the board and it was the Spaniards who included the Queen on the board and not only that, they placed her as the piece with the most power in terms of moves, this completely revolutionized the game.

This is something very common, many times I am playing a game and some acquaintance passes by and tells me "that is very boring" or "chess is for intelligent people ". Chess cannot be a boring game because many doctors recommend it to children with ADHD ( Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ) because it is fun for them. It is scientifically proven that in mild and moderate cases of ADHD chess can replace drugs and in more severe cases it can reduce the dose of drugs. Now, if instead of saying that chess is boring we ask, should everybody like chess? Obviously the answer is no, but if you like it, it will never be boring for you. One thing is the sport chess and another thing is chess as a means of education, in the sport case you may get bored of the competitions and all that, but in the educational case when the teacher is well documented and trained in the chess world you will hardly get bored of this sport science and I say this because I experienced it personally.

El Ajedrez muy difícil y es para personas muy Inteligentes./Chess is very difficult and is for very intelligent people.

This is totally false. Don't confuse a major league player with an amateur baseball player, while it is true that both play baseball, one has spent his whole life preparing to reach a high level while the other only plays for pleasure because he likes to play the sport. The same happens with chess, The International Grandmaster spends his whole life training to reach that level of excellence, this does not prevent you to learn chess either for fun or to use it as a method of education, you do not have to have some kind of specific intelligence to learn to play chess, once you learn it is your decision if you want to use it to educate, have fun or devote yourself to it as a professional career. Any person of any condition or intellectual level can play chess or use it as an educational tool.

Educational chess students develop their intelligence significantly above the others in many areas including emotional intelligence. The academic performance improves especially in the areas of mathematics and literature, but there is one in particular that strikes me very much and is that we learn to win and lose, I say this because in chess unlike all sports if you lose you can not blame the referee, Therefore in chess the one who loses is the one who learns the most and I say this because if you are reading this post and you play a game with me and I lose when I retire I would start to think What did I do wrong? What should I improve? and so I develop my self-critical thinking and this I acquire playing chess and better yet I can transfer it to my daily life and so in any situation that thought will be activated helping me to get solutions and improvements to my daily life.

In short, chess teaches you that thinking can be fun and maybe other things teach you the same but I am writing about the one I know the most, so I can only thank you for visiting my blog.

Saludos y un fuerte abrazo./Greetings and a big hug.
