David Beckham is arguably the most handsome bloke on the face of the earth. Well, me and you wouldn't know. You better ask your girlfriends for that part. He isn't the subject today, so moving on. Today's subject is his club, Inter Miami. We all know the USA isn't the most welcoming country for football. They even change the name to soccer. And call another game football which doesn't has a ball or is played by foot. Well, sorry if anyone is offended. So, it all starts when Beckham was done playing for Real Madrid at the age of 31.

So many of the European clubs were offering him a big amount for his services. But this is where something odd happened. Beckham ignored all those offers and went to MLS. Back then at that age European players moving to MLS wasn't a real thing. So nobody believed he would actually do that. But Beckham was a keen business mind. He inserted a clause that he would be allowed to buy a franchise club at 25 million at a state of his liking.

He saw that this footballing market was untapped. A big population but no real reason for them to follow the game. No worldwide stars, no exceptional team or event, nothing. Beckham thought he could make it work. And also a notable point, Beckham was so influential in kicking off American soccer that LA Galaxy put a statue of him outside the stadium. He kicked off the MLS as a whole. He brought along with him a big media attention, many sponsors, which are key to boom a new market. Beckham saw this and thought, maybe he can use his own influence to turn a whole new football club and in turn turn the whole league. And as expected. He founded Inter Miami in the city of Miami. And used his celebrity endorsements to make the club popular from the ground up. I mean come on, wouldn't you think like, man, Beckham's new team, I hope it wins. Beckham also tried to impose his European ideals in the club. And of course he did. He brought European coaches such as Phil Neville and he is expected to implement the same training systems as the premier league. And while the American owners of European clubs are having a bad name to themselves, by ruining the club's culture which is deeply embedded in the community (Super league is an example).

Beckham has taken the opposite approach. He is devoted to tie the club to culture of the city of Miami. We all know Miami has a more Latin population than American. The name Internacionale Miami embodies that. And his efforts paid off. The club ultras showed up in an u-14 game in the pre season. Not something you see daily.

Beckham has also targeted to sign talented European players. Star players at the end of their European careers. For example, Messi is tipped to join Inter Miami after his spell at PSG. But due to salary cap and MLS rules of not having more than 3 high profile signings, Beckham just can't splash cash. This drove him towards building an academy. And he will do it and that too in European style. With the 2026 USA world cup approaching, Inter Miami are in the perfect stage to be the pioneer to the boom of MLS.

Yeah, we must acknowledge what Beckham did there. Some really farfetched stuff. And looks set to be successful
