Should You Give What The Attacker Wants?

in BDCommunity4 months ago

The attacker can have different motives behind an attack. If the attacker attacks you to get something valuable that you have, he might stop if he gets that. Or, he might still attack you and hurt you pretty bad even after getting what he wants.

So you cannot say for sure whether you should give what the attacker wants or not. Maybe the attacker has a gun or knife, he holds that. You just came out from the ATM booth. The attacker knows that you just withdrew money. That's what he is after. You are in an awkward position, and the attacker might go away after getting your money.

Your life is more valuable than anything. You can earn more money if you are alive. So what you think would be the best, you make a decision based on that.

Sometimes giving money or what you have will not work, the attacker is going to hurt you anyway. You need to decide what you would do and when. Timing is also very important.

Understanding the psychological aspects can help you a lot to deal with a situation like that. The attacker asks you for your money, you can attack him right away. Or, observing the situation, you just give what wants. As soon as the attacker grabs what you give, that's the moment to make your move.

For example, the attacker has a knife in one hand. When you give your wallet or purse to the attacker, he will grab that on his other hand. So you see that he might not attack you with that hand that holds your wallet. You can use that moment to make your move in order to defend yourself.

If you are able to use the moment when that attacker is distracted or you make him distracted, you can make your move effectively with a view to protecting yourself.

So what do you think about this? Should you give what the attacker wants? Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you so much for reading this post.

Stay safe. Always be happy!

I'm one of those who would fight to keep my property. But I understand why many would choose not to and might be smarter.

However, I believe that if someone is demanding you come with them in no way do you comply. If you allow someone to get you away from the public, the odds of ones survival fall drastically as they can do whatever they wish without worrying about being rushed or someone hearing you if you scream. I recommend making a fight there and then to anyone being demanded to come with an attacker.

I just discovered you in the new posts, and glanced and saw you did a post on whether you plan on where you strike an opponent. I think (I trained years ago) it's smart for everyone to not only plan this, but prepare for different scenarios based on height/weight/numbers. Also to begin studying group dynamics in case confronted by several people. If you can identify the tough one and take them out, often the others will become cowards and run. It's usually never the one making the most noise, that's usually the bully emboldened by the implied power of the tough one.

An interesting blog and am following now.

Bad guys seem tough from outside, but from inside they are weak. If you give up easily, they might come over and over to do the same thing and make other people victim. Taking action against them would be the effective one.

I completely agree with you. You have to train and prepare for self defense. If something bad happens, who knows, you are ready to face that and protect yourself and others. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I appreciate your feedback!

See you around, @practicalthought!
