My Actifitivity: January 7 2022

Friday.

We've got more mossy stumps and #FungiEveryday turns into #FungiFriday today.

There was some light snowfall in the morning but by the time I went for my afternoon walk almost all of it had melted again already.

I came across some more of the "flat-earth mushroom", which I believe to have finally properly identified as a trametes gibbosa a.k.a. lumpy bracket.

And the flat-earth has little trees and gras growing from its surface, too?!

Actually, upon closer inspection, the flat-earth is growing around the grass and blueberry bushes here.

I'd love to see a time lapse of how this kind of thing happens. The mushroom bracket enclosing the shard of grass totally undisturbed... amazing.

Shrooms are really really fascinating!

On the this note, let's give some props to @ewkaw for her awesome effort of curating the fascinating #FungiFriday challenge and the corresponding community. I'm omitting rule #3 here, this post won't stand out anyway, but I still wanted to pay my dues for once ;)

And now I 'll leave you with one last snap of what I believe to be a gloeophyllum sepiarium, better remembered as a rusty gilled polypore.

Thanks for your time!

#takemorewalks

That timelapse would probably take a long time, but it's stunning to see the timelapse some people are doing. Do you know muchrooms are the largest living creatures? Even we are mushrooms.

Awesome shot, nature at it's best, you go dude!

Hahaa! Yeah, I am planning to make leather out of an amadue mushroom though. To make myself a hat, do you know anyone that could make a simple in one line banner with a mushroom in it? :))
