"My" connection to the Americas and Spain?
Even today it was a wonderful cloudy day, with intermittent showers, but so light that you hardly noticed it was raining.
I took the opportunity to visit a little bit the center of Chiavari, with its beautiful churches, and walk along the waterfront promenade.
Despite the gray sky, the place gives interesting spots of colors, such as these maritime pines...
... or these colorful boats in the marina... and what about those colorful houses in the background, in the upper part of the village?
And what about those colorful houses in the background in the upper part of the town?
Then, this Coast Guard aircraft really surprised me: did it have a malfunction and had to make an emergency landing?
Ah no, some joker just decided to park it in the middle of the flowerbed, ahahahahh! 😊
And here's a little glimpse of the park at my house:
... yes, better said, may be my house shortly, when BTC will reach the value of half a million dollars? 😜
And here we are at the cover photo: the statue of Christopher Columbus, alleged discoverer of the Americas (so "our" history books tell us) who looks westward, thinking of reaching India by circumnavigating the globe.
His statue is standing above the three caravels:
La Santa María, also known as La Gallega, was the flagship of the fleet of three ships used by Christopher Columbus on his first voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492 (the other ships were the Niña and the Pinta). The owner was Juan de la Cosa, an ethnic Basque man from Santoña, Cantabria (at the time of his part of Biscay), who operated in the waters of southern Spain. Part of the fleet at the express request of the Spanish Queen Isabel, who was incited by Columbus, the Santa María was the flagship of the Genoese as long as she remained afloat: stranded on Christmas Day 1492 on the shores of Haiti, due to the inexperience of the helmsman, the ship was partially dismantled to obtain wood for Fort La Navidad, built near a village of native Taíno, the first Spanish settlement in the New World. The hull of the Santa María remained where it was and is now the subject of a tight hunt for the wreck, apparently with no positive conclusion.
Compared to the Niña and the Pinta, which were caravels, the Santa María was a much larger vessel, belonging to the category of the nau, the large ships for transoceanic navigation developed by the Portuguese and Genoese during the 15th century.
It is believed that Santa María could also have been the name of the flagship which Columbus used during his second voyage across the Atlantic (a voyage in which both the Niña and the Pinta took part), although the only certain information on the name of the ship comes from Italian sources and would have it christened "Marigalante". Also that wood was owned by Juan de la Cosa.

!Christopher Columbus looks towards the Americas (thinking of reaching India)]()
Who knows how many lies we have been told about Christopher Columbus?
Will the descendants of the Native Americans, who survived the extermination that followed this "discovery of the Americas", also consider him a great man? 🙄
Thank you for your time!
Any feedback from you is always very welcome!
If you glad, see you tomorrow? 🙏
A huge hug! 🤗

Ah no, qualche burlone ha proprio deciso di parcheggiarlo in mezzo all'aiuola, ahahahahh! 😊

Grazie per avermi dedicato il tuo tempo!
Qualsiasi tuo commento, è sempre molto gradito!
Ci si rilegge domani? 🙏
Un caro abbraccio! 🤗

And you have a plane....and lot of boats!!!!!!
I'm already very rich: no need BTC at $500k value, right? 😉
Wouldn't be so bad if (when) reaches that. Finally, there would be a house with my name on ot, and one grand piano in every room hahahaha (for each piano-friend one)
Hey, I somehow found the piano in Hive Fest. I could play it but clicking on the keys with the pointer. 😂
You are thinking big: great! 😎.
Congratulations for being able to find a playable piano even in virtual reality!
I entered today but I did not find you at all! 😭
Did you managed to VR register recovering the password in the encrypted memo sent by @hivefest?

Yes, I managed. But the AltspaceVR was crashing on a lot of times, didn't work well for me.
I had lessons in the afternoon 😑 just entered about 10 p.m.
Maybe I didn't spend enough time on it, but the experience didn't excite me at all.
I went in today around 8pm and found nothing.... probably event already finished?
I'm going to go read a few posts and watch some deferred coverage to figure out "what I missed".
A big hug! 🤗
I was in ewkaw's world this evening, around 8pm , listening to one presentation.. in the afternoon was crashing each time I entered 🤷
In-person events are an entirely different matter and, in my opinion, irreplaceable by any virtual reality!
Of course!!
I'll be preparing the return for Amazon soon: I greatly prefer to spend my time in real social reality rather than virtual reality!
It is good, that you have listened to your daughter 😋
Eheheheheh, she Is very sage! 👍

Beautiful my friend!!! I think you are correct that the History books "color" stories like that of Christopher Columbus.
Thanks @silvertop!
Little by little I'm realizing that the perceived reality has always been very colorful and to understand the truth you have to go well beyond the appearance, right?
🍻 !BEER and a huge hug! 🤗
