Pre-Gig Halloween Practice: October 29 2025 [eng/deu]

We've been learning Halloween songs for our gig on Friday and in the run-up to it did we decide to take them out a couple of days before.

First up today was an open mic at the Plume of Feathers in Little Wymondley were we played a last minute gig a week ago and will be back for New Years Eve.

We messed up a fair bit.. you think, you've practiced so much, and it should be easy enough, but, oh my.

We asked to get on early so we could join our friends at the White Horse in Arlesey straight after and get another chance to test the songs.

I'm glad to say they worked better that time, although some polishing is still required, but at least we know what to watch out for when we do them on Friday.

Wir haben Halloween-Lieder für unseren Auftritt am Freitag geübt und uns im Vorfeld dazu entschlossen, sie ein paar Tage vorher zu proben.

Heute stand zuerst ein Open Mic im Plume of Feathers in Little Wymondley auf dem Programm. Dort hatten wir vor einer Woche schon einen spontanen Auftritt und werden auch an Silvester wieder spielen.

Wir haben ganz schön viel Mist gebaut … Man denkt ja, man hat so viel geübt, das sollte doch ein Kinderspiel sein, aber, oh je!

Wir haben darum gebeten, früher auftreten zu dürfen, damit wir direkt im Anschluss unsere Freunde im White Horse in Arlesey treffen und die Lieder noch einmal testen konnten.

Ich bin froh, sagen zu können, dass es diesmal besser lief, auch wenn noch etwas Feinschliff nötig ist. Aber zumindest wissen wir jetzt, worauf wir achten müssen, wenn wir sie am Freitag spielen.
