I went for a walk for the first time in 2 months - Back on Actifit on Hive!

(Edited)

I arrived in Mexico City in late March and I went straight into quarantine. Don't judge, I have two grandmas and my dad is quite old, so it doesn't matter if the numbers are pumped, there's a narrative behind the isolation policies and bla bla, I didn't want to get sick and give it to them.

I stayed home since then, but now, since the city is pretty much empty as you can see in the pictures, I decided to go got a walk.

Here are some of the pics of my first Actifit report of the year and my first walk around in months, I hope you like the pics.

Don't you like it? I think it's a good way to track your daily activity and post it on the Hive Blockchain :)

I used it about a year ago and was fed up with the short entries directly but maybe its better now. Also maybe a seperate account for those entries might be better for me.

It's probably a great time to go back to using it! Why don't you give it a chance, all you have to lose is... well, nothing :D

Looks like how it normally looks when we're out and about (homeschooling so we tend to go out when everyone else is at school/work but not recently for obvious reasons) ;D nice peaceful walk then? :)

It was a very nice walk, so much that I repeated it yesterday and might as well do it today! Oh yeah, definitely one of the perks of living outside of the system - on any degree -, you get to enjoy things that 95% or more of the population can't really fathom to experience. That's the way to go!

Wow! That is a pretty area to walk with. Thank you for sharing..

It is one of the prettiest sides of the city, probably top 3, so yeah, I'm blessed to have that area close to me and be able to walk around. Thanks for dropping by!

Oh! That's cool. Yes, you are blessed to be surrounded by a pretty place! ❤

Stay safe and have a beautiful week ahead!

Wow, that really is still very empty for a city.

I don't blame you for taking lockdown seriously with elderly relatives, people can still die from this thing after all!

Over here things seem to be a little bit better. I remember I took a walk into the park a few days ago and there were lots of places with teenagers training and listening to music :)

I went yesterday to the same park and there were definitely more people, but it was a Saturday so it's understandable. I wish I stayed in Europe as the quarantine only lasted a couple of months, in here it will last at least 6 months; cheers for being third world I guess :P

Well we also have rumours that it will last around 2 years until everything is gone. But we are optimists :P

What's the current Covid-19 situation ?

Half the population goes out every day, half is quarantined for three months now. The curve trend is still upwards, I reckon we'll be like this for a couple months or even more. It sucks :/

True that - most feel, nothing will happen to them, but the curve is telling something else. Trying not to go as much as possible - safe bet.

Wow they're not taking any chances with the sit at home thing, are they? Looks like a ghost town.

Good to see you around these parts Eric. No-one would judge you for going into isolation and whatnot. Whatever anyone may choose to believe, fact remains that there is a virus and it has killed people

Well yeah, recreational spaces are pretty much empty, most of the streets are part of a ghost town but, on the other hand, you have all the people who live day to day, and if they don't work they don't eat. There are parts of the city that are crowded as hell, public transportation is always half - or more - full. There are two sides of Mexico city, I just showed you guys the privileged part of town, that can actually quarantine without starving :/

Ah, no one is around, it seems so quiet... Well, here in Ukraine nowadays I see people everywhere, people are enjoying the summer here and as lockdown is over so they don't care about COVID... LOL

I wish lockdown was over, Mexico city is a curious country to say the least because half the population simply can't quarantine else they won't eat the next day, so the curve hasn't really changed, we are still going upwards and it sucks. I can quarantine so I do my part, but I'm getting tired of this crap.

It seems like an intense situation where you just can wait and help yourself... After learning about Mexico, I feel Bangladesh is also dealing with the same condition. The curve of Bangladesh is still going upwards and death rate is increasing day by day...

Wow, it must feel different to walk around there.

Feels like a ghost town everywhere.

Definitely different, especially considering that exactly this neighborhood is busy all the time, every day, at any given time of the day :S

Thank you for being responsible and caring for the elders :) I wear the same mask all the time, not for me but for others (and avoid going out unnecessarily). I know the old mask is probably not protecting me anymore, but if everyone covers their face properly, we protect each other.
The low air pollution has been a nice bonus, I hope we don't go back to the old habits or worse.

As much as I'm against the lockdown and any degree of conspiracy this whole thing may be, the truth is the virus is real. How real, how harmful and how good was our reaction to it is a whole different story, so yes, better to take care and to protect those in the risk group. Oh yes, definitely! The air here is so much more cleaner and enjoyable!

That's right, the city has never been such a chilled place to walk around. Two days ago I went to see my dentist, and since my metro card has become invalid (another story) I decided to walk. It took me an hour, but I never felt so relaxed. Even busy avenues, like Insurgentes, I could cross diagonally like an expert jaywalker. Oh, and the air, so fresh and clean...!
