Starting a self imposed challenge: 450,000 steps in 30 days using Actifit

avatar

This will be a short post, tomorrow I'm planning on posting the real deal about this self imposed challenge.

Yesterday, Monday, I went hiking with my 12 year old dog which turned to be a trip where I carried her half of the time, but she still enjoyed the ride.

I got to 15k+ steps which is amazing, and then it struck me, I should start a challenge to keep myself active.

I finally have a Sim Card, that means I can finally use Actifit again!

Anyway, here's this first post in a while, hoping that I can post daily at least for this challenge.

I hope you guys are doing great and having a good Eclipse Hard Fork :)

I like your personal challenge!
Walking is one of the activities that I enjoy the most and recently I found that doing it with my dog, just 10 months old, gives me unparalleled joy.
I wish you are great and keep taking actions that motivate more and more content creators.
Hugs and blessings.

Me agrada tu desafío personal!
Abrazos y bendiciones.

Oh wow, 10 months old, we're talking about a puppy! I'm on the other side, Alai is already saying goodbye so I can't really stress her or overstrain her.

Thanks for your comment and your good Vibes!

That's a fairly decent number, 15,000/day and probably not something I could sustain for 30 days - Work commitments and all.

It would be interesting to track a few other metrics like weight, elapsed time and calorie intake to see if they change, although you're probably doing everything right in those areas already.

Good luck.

I had a good pre-season since I've been running a couple clicks for the past two weeks, so I didn't start fresh.

I've been slacking my Hive activity and this mini challenge seemed like the best way to get back on track. I'm usually a dude who can't stand to do a thing for a specific purpose, anything I do has to have several purposes or else I feel like I'm wasting my time. That's why while I run I listen to German spoken podcasts to practice/keep learning German, this means I'm exercising, posting to hive and practicing German, and if my dog was still able to run with me, it would be four birds, one stone :D

Thanks for your vote and your comment man, glad to see you're still active and Hiveing.

Learning a language whilst running seems like a very nice multi-tasking opportunity...I'm not sure I'd be able to concentrate on both though, running isn't my thing anymore...Take effort. :)

Yah, I'm still here posting daily and working to assist others to engage with the community. Falling away isn't on the radar as it has been for many others, I enjoy the platform and so I'm here.

It's very important now especially in Covid times. As long as you are fit, you are safe.

Great challenge! I feel a bit inspired! Lol i'll consider it too. Do you have a backpack for your pup? Would be tough to carry her that much. Best of luck!

Yessss, I have a backpack specifically for her so I can take her hiking on steeper roads and sometimes rocky mountains. She is 6 kilos now but at one point she was 9, imagine carrying that without a backpack haha

You need to be very persistent. But seeing the daily leaderboard in the actifit app, it seems that achieving 450,000 activities are not impossible. A few guys are regularly making 30k daily activities . Good luck 👍

I find it pretty hard to believe that people are getting 30k+ steps a day without having a job where they're walking all day. It's that or some sort of cheat feature like strapping the cellphone to your dog or just waving it constantly during the day.

I reach 15k steps on average but I walk/run for around 4 hours a day.

Thanks for stopping by and for your comment!

I have checked that 1-hour on the treadmill makes a 10k plus activities with a pace of 6 km/h. So, if someone has a job where he needs to walk a lot, 50k activities is not impossible (a 5 hours walk approximately). And who are performing such activities on a regular basis (according to the leaderboard) for a long time, I think its genuine.

Thanks for the reply 👍 😀 🙂.

Needing a challenge to keep yourself active, have you been a slacky nomad :D

Looks like you have some nice scenery for this challenge at any rate :)

Oh yes, I wish I was able to hike daily but that's impossible. The good thing is that the city where I'm based right now is full of green everywhere you go, so I can't complain :D

Thanks for stopping by like you always do!
