Thoughts from a night bus

avatar
Been a while since I wrote one of these, and by these I means a *thoughts from a* kind of post. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that lately - and by lately I mean this year 2021 - 99% of my posts have been from the Actifit Dapp.

I still haven't gotten my writing mojo back, where I used to write a post and sometimes two per day, every day of the week, for months at a time. I remember I used to write them directly on Hive - well, back then on Steemit - and I had gotten so used to do it directly on the .submit page that I never got used to Steempeak nor any other posting Dapp. In fact, to this day, I use Hive.blog to write my non-actifit posts despite there being many other options to do so and, ironically, I am now more used to post through actifit (if I'm on my cellphone) than from any other posting Dapp.

I had to take a night bus. Well, in fact it's more like a dawn type of bus, it's cheaper, less people, and I don't have to wait at the airport for too long.

It's funny, there's no literal translation to English for the word madrugada which means very, very early in the morning, before anyone else is awake, when the birds haven't started singing but you can already consider it tomorrow and not still today. Madrugada would be 5 am, but not 1 am, if you're awake at 5 am you think damn, it's too early, but if you're awake at 1-2 am, you think it's late. If you're a purist, both times belong to the new day, but everybody knows that the latter is still technically the day before.

Anyway, I'm on a madrugada bus on my way to the airport cause I'm about to jump on a Covid plane, heading to an unknown destination on a business-like kind of trip. I must have a mask if I want to get on the bus or board the plane no matter how I feel about the idiotic, moronic and illogical muzzle, but that doesn't mean I should wear it at all times. No no, I just put it on whenever someone who looks official (you know the type, the ones that have that face of I'm only following rules, I don't understand them and I just follow them because I don't wanna lose my job, besides this whole situation allows me to virtue signal around and it makes me feel like a true hero, despite me being a spineless piece of coward meat) asks me to or when I'm going inside somewhere and there's another official looking person taking your temperature and giving away antibacterial gel.

Oh well, that's the dystopian reality the sheeple decided to embrace. It's funny how people gave away so many freedoms, willingly and without any fighting back.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I managed to count a little bit over 12k steps, not bad, don't you agree?

I hate waking up early in the morning. But when I have to go to work for the morning shift (and it starts at 6 in the morning), then I have to wake up at 3 in the morning. It's disgusting. And protective masks ... in our country (in Slovakia) have already lifted the state of emergency regarding the pandemic, but we still have to wear them when we enter any room. Hope this will be over soon. Which means "bus for adults". Does this mean that children cannot ride it?

Can we mention that time in English dawn? I think it is just before Dawn. or 2 hours before dawn. the time when the bar is not start singing is is just late night we can mention. I had experience of such kind of situation as well. when sometimes I travel to night then I enjoy this beautiful late night without sleeping. like you I also don't like to wear mask except official stages. losing freedom and I don't know why we are sacrificing all those. it was interesting to know about your journey, activity and nice post to read. thank you very much

I know I'm two months late on replying, but I liked your post :)

  1. You're right about the idiocy of the restrictions and pandemic laws that the sheeple so willingly accept. Just yesterday our moronic German government passed new laws that will atomize our society and cause major ruffles. We're two steps away from civil war. I used to think Germans wouldn't be that stupid again. I was wrong!
  2. And that's why I enjoyed your post about traveling early in the morning so much. Although I passed the age of traveling low budget enthusiastically (I've gotten kind of lazy :)) I miss it evermore! I miss the adrenaline rush of landing in a new country having to figure out how to maneuver the unfamiliar. Meeting new and often awkward but freeminded strangers. Making memories that last a lifetime. Even having the unfortunate moments that get your blood boiling. I'd happily take an overnight second class train ride, or a wobbly bus ride half ways across bumpy mountains. But instead the majority seems to enjoy being locked down and lied to.

All in all your post reminded me of the adventures and the feeling of being alive. But I'm sure it will be a long time until we get back something resembling life as it should be.

Nonetheless I'll lay back for a few minutes and recall those great moments when stepping out of a plane in a new country, driving through clouds on the Laos mountains or just staring into the ocean at sun dawn and all those impressions that you only have when living on the road and that last a lifetime …
