Messier 63 - The Sunflower Galaxy

(Edited)

Hey Hivers,

With this post, I leave for my summer break. The nights become too short and too bright, so astrophotography makes no sense. The time is used for a bigger setup update.

The Sunflower Galaxy is around 30 million light-years away from us and is located in the constellation Canes Venatici. Its diameter is around 50,000 light-years with a total mass of around 1 billion solar masses, which are assumed by its rotational speed. Its spiral arms contain an unusually large number of star-forming regions. It owes its name to these "small" nodular formations. Unfortunately, you can't see it good on my image, but you can see it well on Hubble's images.

Lol yeah, not a time for space photography now. I tried to take a shot of some comet recently. Here in Estonia the sun barely goes down and sky is always bright. Needless to say, I failed :D

Great shot!

Thank you @greddyforce 😊
Yes, you have it a little bit harder than we in Germany 😅
But it is good to use the "nights" what they are made for; sleeping 😂
