Balcony roof and transplanting walnut tree
Today I helped Dave and Emilie a little with installing roof on new balcony,
and dug up a small walnut tree from under a big pear tree where it wasn't getting much sun (it was where you can see a spade in the ground now),
and replanted it in a sunnier spot (it's the one on the left) hopefully not too close to the small oak tree.
I also did some strimming and watering. Plants in pic above are "ground apples".
In this pic above there is bamboo (transplanted from a friend's garden), more ground apples and a plumb tree from a local nursery.
Now sitting on the balcony a little before sunset with some clouds (and balcony roof) providing some relief from the sun.

Hmm I hate to say it, but that Walnut tree looks too close, unless the camera is foreshortening. Assuming they grow the same size as in the UK - I'd say you'd want it at least 25 FT away from the Oak, and that's a minimum distance. Ideally more like 30-40FT.
Yeah, I guessed it was probably too close but I did it anyway!. I'll probably move the oak.
