Wczoraj przed południem pojechaliśmy do Roubaix na zakupy. Liczyłem na to, że przy okazji poszwendamy się też po Lille, ale żona kupiła, co chciała i stwierdziła, że nie ma potrzeby jechać do Lille. Szkoda, bo lubię to największe miasto na północy Francji, niedaleko granicy z Belgią.

[ENG] Yesterday before noon, we went to Roubaix for some shopping. I was hoping that while we were at it, we'd also wander around Lille, but my wife bought what she wanted and said there was no need to go to Lille. It's a shame because I like that largest city in northern France, near the Belgian border.

Zanim wróciliśmy do Mons, zrobiło się już późno, ale nie za późno, żeby wyjść pobiegać. Miałem od razu okazję przetestować nowe spodenki i koszulkę do biegania, które kupiłem sobie kilka godzin wcześniej. Chciałem też kupić nowe buty do biegania, ale nie było mojego rozmiaru w modelach, które pasowałyby do mojej platfusowatej stopy. Wyszedłem potruchtać w nowym stroju, ale w starych butach.

[ENG] By the time we got back to Mons, it was already late, but not too late to go for a run. I immediately had the chance to test out the new running shorts and shirt I had bought myself a few hours earlier. I also wanted to buy new running shoes, but they didn't have my size in the models that would suit my flat feet. I went out for a jog in my new outfit, but in my old shoes.

Kilka dni przerwy od biegania wyzwoliły we mnie głód biegania. Biegłem cały czas w komfortowym tempie, kończąc na pagórku tuż obok mojego bloku. Zwykle odpuszczam sobie ten ostatni podbieg, nie wiem, dlaczego postanowiłem go przebiec wczoraj. Gdybym kontrolował dystans, to pewnie dodałbym nieco ponad 100 metrów, żeby przekroczyć osiem kilometrów.

[ENG] A few days' break from running had unleashed a hunger for running in me. I ran the whole time at a comfortable pace, finishing on the little hill right next to my apartment building. I usually skip that final uphill stretch; I don't know why I decided to run it yesterday. If I had been tracking my distance, I probably would have added a little over 100 meters to exceed eight kilometers.
