Daily Actifit Report and #IAmAliveChallenge Post #1

Today I'm taking on two challenges at once and hope to use this series of posts to help me meet them both.

Get More Fit With Actifit

The first and maybe most important challenge is a personal challenge to get more exercise. I've been finding my couch more and more comfortable every day and need to get in the habit of getting outside and enjoying the day.

I am not a young man anymore, so my activities are going to be on the lower end of exercise spectrum - no marathons in my horizon! But I plan to walk, ride my bike, kayak, work in the yard, etc. Anything that keeps me moving and off the couch.

I also want to combine my Actifit report with my #IAmAliveChallenge post. The #IAmAliveChallenge is another great community that is intended to reward participants for being #alive and being social. They have recently launched a new tribe - wearealiveand.social which I think is going to explode their community, and I'm happy to be part of it. So today is my day 1 post for I am alive.

Yesterday's Actifit Report

Yesterday was a great day to get started on my new fitness goal. My wife and I took the dogs for a walk around our local lake (about 2 miles) in the morning then we went kayaking down a river we had been wanting to try out for sometime.

I had worried about the river since I had heard they had some rapids in it, but they were nothing. It was a very nice and gentle 2 mile float. While fun, I didn't get much exercise other than loading and unloading the kayaks. But that is ok, we had fun with some friends and made plans to take the river for a longer trip next month.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and are ready to start crushing some more goals. With today being a work day most of my day will be sitting in front of a computer but I will try and get out and get some steps in.
