My Actifit Report Card: September 2 2020
Weird sky morning almost like there were bushfires around. There are not. Wrestled a bit with ideas for a bike ride. Decided to see if I could find orchids in Duffys Forest a friend posted about. 14 km bike ride to get in place on a new access point to Perimeter Track in Ku-ring Gai Chas NP.
Reward within 20 metres - short lip leek orchid - prasophyllum brevilabre. Only top flower left on the long spike.
A first sighting for me

Track follows fence of golf course for a while - see flash of white - caladenia catenata
Close up shows white spot on column and yellow spot on point of labellum
This little purple flower full of ruffles - only the size of a nickel.
Joined main track - found 3 large waxlip orchids - each quite different in colour from pale mauve

Still waiting for sun orchids to be fully open - next week.
Turned back and found another leek orchid on the track back - this one had lots of flowers (15+)
Spider grevillea is always popular
New spot for caladenia catenata - this pair dancing. Pushed off track and found a lot in flower (30 or so).
This one has pink in the throat - the others do not

Great reward for 28 km round trip on the bicycle with over 400 m climbing.
Afternoon reward - two pairs of king parrots visiting at some time
