My Actifit Report Card: September 17 2020
I saw golden donkey orchids in Hunter Valley last week. Wanted to see if they had started down south. Also wanted some kms in the legs for the upcoming cycle challenge. 25 kms and turn around.
Riding along Pacific Highway and see flash of purple some 5 metres off the road. Stop - sun orchid

Spied a flash of blue as I began the climb up from Cowan - was not going to stop but there was a big black snake basking in the sun. Wanted a photo - snake gone but a different sun orchid

Kept going up the hill and found another cluster of sun orchids

Love this yellow flower which had lots of insect action until I came along
Did find early signs of donkey orchids
Did find them flowering opposite Pie in the Sky - hard to photograph on a windy day
Nice cluster
Found more on way back
The best part is I found these all these 5 flowering orchids from the seat of my bike - no walking needed. 50 kms ridden and 633 metres climbing = longest ride for a while
A delight at home too - rock orchid flowers and well
Did do some garden chores. Dinner: Stir fried rice..
