Wake to a brighter day but air still laden with the smell of hazard reduction burn. Ride today is into the heart of the King Valley food and wine area. First stop in a reserve area to look for orchids - no luck
Ride up rail trail and then off onto Whorouly River
Stopped for a coffee in Millewa and then rode back toward Everton - some grand trees down at the creek
Going to guess these trees are 75 years old at least
Passed through the town of Everton - pub and caravan park and general store propped up by rail trail behind
Onto rail trail and into wind uphill to Taylor's Gap for the ride to camp
Two days of 80 kms riding is more than I have done since October - today better than the day before.
Had a quiet dinner in camp and avoided the club dinner. I am boycotting that but did choose to attend the event against my principled decision - I hate bullies.
Now for the week in photos. Scenic photo of the week has to come from the Blue Mountains - maybe this one as it is from a quiet corner
Atmosphere photo of the week - smoke haze over Mt Buffalo in Victoria
Orchid photo of the week from the Blue Mountains - a first for me on a new track - chiloglottis reflexa
But the photo of the week has to be the pink flannel flower - last seen flowering here 57 years ago - big fires and lots of rain did that.
