Time to continue our journey southwards from Coffs Harbour. I got driving duties. Chose to take a scenic route at the front end mimicking the bike trip I did in 2018
First stop Sawtell for a look back toward Coffs and coffee. View of the old railway bridge still in use.
Then along the old coast road to Urunga. As the new highway is complete, there are long sections of Old Pacific Highway which are really quiet for driving.
Stayed that way all the way to Nambucca and Macksville. Some op shopping here and a fine view on a cloudy day of the bridge over the Nambucca River.
Then we hit the highway. We came off to drive through Kempsey and to a rest area coffee break there. Town has sure felt the impact of the recent floods.
We did highway again until Port Macquarie turn off and we headed into town for lunch break overlooking the Hastings River. Back to the highway with bypass into Taree to shop for dinner. We snared two of our favourite Aldi entrees still on sale. Prawn scallop dish and prawn bisque dish - cook in oven for 20 minutes.
End point today was Diamond Beach, most northerly resort in the Great Lakes region. Resort is right on the beach - a bit tired and there were only 3 guests.
Walked to the beach. Looking north first and then south toward Redhead. Nice sunset taking shape as I took the steps back to the resort
I walked down the road to get the full sunset glory
One with some street furniture and one without
Dinner: No oven for prawn scallops was not a problem as we now travel with a small air fryer. Worked great. Mains were bbq and salad.
Trade action: Bought BJK with Jim Cramer adding to WYNN. Also bought CBK.DE (replacing assigned stock on a down day)
