My Actifit Report Card: July 13 2021

Wake to a blue sky day. Took a while to get moving but I did get out on my bike. There is one budding orchid I want to see open.

Good to see some new buds. Also keen to find if more small gnat orchids are flowering

2nd colony of cyrtostylis reniformis has flowers too.

Pixie caps orchid with quite a different labellum colour. Everything else is standard

More greenhood buds and then a flower

This is the bud I saw last week - blunt greenhood - pterostylis curta

One bristle helmet orchid still flowering

Pterostylis curta bud forming alongside a withered corysanthes fimbriatus (the black thing looking like a dead fly is the wilted flower)

Found a painted stone next to a steep track up

View down over the grass tree was worth it. Stone is still in its place

Last bud to check was this tall greenhood now open

Side on of bunochilus longifolius. Then started the track back studying the water side of the track

Lots more buds. Nice ride on a fab winter day. Too bad it was spoiled by 3 asshole drivers on the way back.

Dinner action started the day before - beef short ribs for the first time. Season - some from garden.

Sous vide for 24 hours at 165F - this is what it looks like after that

Reserve the liquid left and skim fat off. Reduce and make your own bbq sauce - remnant bbq sauce, mustard, rice vinegar, tomato paste, brown sugar. Slather this over ribs and bbq or sear.
