Seven Mile Beach NP blunt greenhood orchids and family time : August 15 2025
Not the best night - my wife's bronchitis I getting worse - a night of coughing. Made for a slow start but was able to get to my son's place a little after 11. My granddaughter was a bit shy. Took until after she had lunch to welcome me. We played a lot while mom and dad did chores. Photos in reverse order of the day
Shopped on the way home
Jumped on the bicycle to check on some orchids in the last hour of daylight - blunt greenhood now flowering in the track access - growing on the edge of the eikred over area
Matching rosette - longish pedicel and quite large leaves
Found another cluster - pterostlyis curta - on the South sand track in a new spot. Have walked this track 3 years now - always good to find new spots

Found one budding - hard to ID this early. Will be either pterostylis oblonga or erecta. Going to guess the former given prior year observations - two buds in frame
Struggle to get focus close up of a side on - this is a front on view
One more in a known spot further along. Had hoped to see some of these open. Light was a bit low to really pick them out.
Did get one native violet only - for my new granddaughter - Violette.
Good to get out on the bike even for a short ride. Been a while. Pleased I bought new lights - needed them to be seen on the way home
