Back to Seven Mile Beach NP for hyacinth orchids : November 3 2025
Was a late night catching up on last week's stuff. Was also good to have a quiet night with no furniture moving and door slamming from above. Today's plan - laundry, ride, walk - visit my son and granddaughter

The native violets are just showing - the first ones are tiny. Photo for my granddaughter, Violette

Dyanella still going well

Mission today met - budding hyacinth orchid

Close up of the bud. The spots suggest dipodium variegatum

Spots less forthcoming

Disappointing to see fly tipping in one of the pass through spots. This is becoming quite common. Time for NP to install surveillance cameras. Costs them each time to clear the debris.

Hypericum and attendant bug

Tiny pea flower - forgotten the ID - hardenbergia or hovea

A different dipodium budding close to the beach. Dipodium punctatum - no spots

Was windy at the beach - surf was little but noisy - looking north

Looking south

Cyclist resting. She did move to adjust her hat. No CPR needed

A tiny yellow on the ground

Saw this flower yesterday was just a fluff ball - the open version

A cluster of dipodium variegatum - one of 15 or 20 plants

Closest to opening. Am sure keen to get back to see them open

Trigger flower

Wad good to get a ride done. Had enough time for shower and lunch before going to see my son
Had a lovely afternoon with my granddaughter - we played all sorts of games. Sorry no photos. Was a good chance for my son and his partner to do stuff
Dinner was a recovery event as the gas on BBQ ran out. Plan B worked - on the stove stop

Did spend time trying out a new software tool - made a video short inside 15 minutes. Find the video in my review article https://mclnks.com/ocsreview

I really enjoyed reading about your time at Seven Mile Beach. The mix of nature, cycling, and family moments made it feel so peaceful. Those budding orchids must have been a beautiful sight.

You should keep meeting as many close relatives as you can, and you feel happy after meeting them often. Purple is my favorite color among flowers.
Look out for the post today and tomorrow - purple is coming along for the summer season
